obviously removing them is not viable, controllers (and especially keyboard) need the filters to make input smooth, but the whole point in my main post was that this filter is set up too strongly, and needs to either be toned down, or we need the option to tone it down ourselves via settings.Originally Posted by Anykeyer Go to original post
Doing It with an optional setting would be the best.Originally Posted by theGforce522 Go to original post
Ivory Tower, pls invite oldschool players into the handling survey if you gonna update handling model again. I don't want to get another trash handling model cuz of stoopids.
Old survey was like;
What do you think about the new handling model?
Community: YES.
that was stoopid.
New handling is much better than old one. Yes, you didnt get wheels loosing contact with the ground (on most vehicles) but thats because everything was on rails. Its excessive driving assist, even for an arcade game.
Steering lag on some cars (especially 488 pista, TC sallen s7, and 1st version of magma) was much worse than anything new model got.
And steering limit with gamepads/keyboard was absolute trash.
So out of 3 issues raised by topic starter new model wins in 2 and loses in 1. Both models have problems, dont act like old model didnt or like it was better. Get off your high horse too.
Well, while I totally agree with everything said here, I'm still not a friend of one more update of the driving physics. Each time IT changed physics. they introduced new issues. I would rather suggest to roll back the physics updates for some disciplines. At the moment, they don't seem to have enough devs to do it properly, and even worse, they do not have enough people for testing or the devs are incapable of responding properly to the test feedback.
Giving us access to filter settings would be ok since we are free to screw it up by ourselves or leave everything as is (or maybe improve the situation).
i wouldnt say 'much better' its just different. the old handling was more limited by the grip you had in the car, and the max steering angle of the cars, while with the new handling the cars have more grip and steering angle, but that just brings the new problem of bodyroll and just suspension in general not being able to handle the forces on the car with this new grip. (oh and also the fact that it takes a decade to go to max steering lock)Originally Posted by Anykeyer Go to original post
they just substituted a set of problems for another set of problems, problems that in my eyes make this handling model worse than the first one. you cant just say "we used to have 3 problems and now we have 2, so it's better now", the magnitude of the problems we have right now is so much bigger. I completely agree that we shouldnt just say the old handling model was perfect and this handling model is bad, both have their upsides and their downsides but i feel the downsides of this handling model are too big. Im not asking to revert back to the old handling model, im asking to fix the problems that were brought to this new handling model.
