Event objective highlights how crap grenades are

So 50 hits with grenades... what does it show us? that grenades are poor in the game. Whats the percentage of actually getting a hit vs the enemy going, oh look a big red circle, gotta get outta here, one sec, my shoelace is undone, must tie that first. Hmm, my pack isn't sitting right, lemme adjust that. Is that some rust on my gun, hmm, better give that a clean, hey joe, got any 2 by 4? never mind, found mine. Do do do do do do do. Thats better, now where was I? oh yeah, red circle, best do a heroic combat roll and, yeah, nah nah, missed me. Again.

I think grenades suck. Even before this staryed they sucked. Set time is way too long. I had one of the heavy gunners that lay down. He was laying threw a grenade right on top of him. He got up, layed back down got up again then ran away. Then the grenade went off. They are a total waste. They dont even damage enemies that much.
And the talent for grenades is a waste.

The det time on grenades needs to be 50% less.

I also think they should let us use any grenade that we want. If they are opened in the specialization then we should be able to use them reguardless what specialization you have equipped

Cooking granades was a talent way back when, they should make that default, and lower the det time of thrown grenades to make them effective. Also, in division 1, you could Hold G and Select what kind of grenade you want. When you have a specialization, you have default grenades and spec ones, you can switch them in the menu, but not by holding down the G button to do this, why now? You could do it last game, why not carry that over? WTF?

Agree that grenades pretty much suck unless you are opening up an encounter with them or, in battle, to proc something. You can almost never land a hit on an alerted NPC cause they are like "ah hell nah!" unless you got some cc.

But they are effective at that, especially opening an encounter, fire/flashbang, whatever, the whole group at the start and they never roll out of the way.
They also serve a purpose at forcing enemies out of cover, getting guys off of mounted guns during CP encounters ( which is less risky than trying to shoot them off), making that heavy gunner guy laying down stop firing and change position and a few other situations.
They are a supplement to your guns and have their uses, and according to Division Tracker I have over 1200 grenade kills too (top 0.6 % PS4), which isnt tooo bad.

Grenades are awesome against patrols, open world events and in mission when you creep in undetected. Fire grenade opener, pop an attack drone and assault turret, mechanical animal and harmony with perfect spark and composure, it's a murder fest.
You're using grenades wrong if you're using them other than opening attacks or during battle to dictate enemy positioning.

Eh I really dnt have any motivation to do this Hollywood event. Looks super tedious all for a small sunglasses backpack trophy where you can't even see it most of the time?
    Pass.

But yes grenades are useless for damage since the NPCs just roll around like sonic and can never hit them.

There nothing more than an annoying fly to the AI in this game and lucky if they take an armour bar at higher levels, I forget to use them half the time because their a pointless waste of time, cant recal how many times I’ve been insta killed by their stupid homing grenades though......sigh, any other game you’d see bodies and body parts flying through the air
