You spend $ to buy crates or steel for gear? Stupid move.

And it is "dedicated" server, not designated. And as far as I know, they have been in service for 2 years now ? The issue here is lag compensation which favor the bad connections where it should favor the good ones.
Sorry for spellcheck changing 'server', you understood the intent however so pulling that up is just petty.

And yes, as this game is run by a business i understand that if I want something i enjoy to continue i support it financially. Not everyone has to, some people are in a place thay cant, but the fact you find that 'stupid' is worrying, and to be honest should reduce your voice on these forums to a squeek. You dont want to offer anything for your demands, and instead seem to encourage financial loss for the game you want a say over.

The issues on the launch of this game (and R6 before it) were enough for me to not trust ubi anymore (the gear thing was just further evidence), now I dont buy games upfront and dont buy on faith in the brand (reviews only and only after its a year or so old, if then). However I did intend to play for honor last year, so I did get the season pass when I came back to the game, - as no money, no support, no game. That said I was very disappointment with last season (the year of the raider/hito/jorm....) & as a result didn't spend another cent on the game since then, and wont consider it until some common sense returns to the game (maybe August?).

Petty as you implying I had difficulties against orochi and fast attacks.

And again, what can I tell you ? It was a stupid move and you learn from it, good for you. But still stupid move whatever you trying to justify yourself. Plus there was no need to buy steel with $ as you would get it anyway in time. I never bought steel pack in this game because I saw how the support would be when they took more than 2 months to release the first balance patch after the release.

Good on YOU! So clever to way you can keep typing while the whole point of what I was saying goes sailing over your head

People like you will not spend money on a game seemingly ever, because if your still playing since original orochi then you must have racked up significant hours. Are you saying at no point during those hours you enjoyed the game?

I dont mind spending money when I am happy with a game or see potential in it - at the moment I am not happy, so I will not spend money. Unlike you, I might if things improved. At this point in time im playing less and less, and the idea of the servers going off isn't really all that upsetting to me anymore as the game has fallen further and further from where I used to really enjoy it.

August may fix that, it may not, but for me the soul of this game has gone. I'm not supporting the direction of this game over the past 16 months or so, where the only good changes have been fixing bad mistakes that have been made. AS a player who spends money a good way to show that is to turn off the tap.

I dont mind spending some money to support a game I like, because (and I hate to break this to you) games are actually stupid, buying and playing them is stupid, they are just something fun and timewasting. So spending money on the game is no dumber than spending 3x the time in game to acquire something. Time = money after all except giving them money also boosts the longevity and support for a game.

And if others like me, who put money in to keep the game profitable start to think like me (many have already tbh, I dont know anyone whos purchased this season pass) then good luck with your 'sick life hack just unlock in game never spend money cos is stupid' attitude keeping the lights on. Ubi has already alienated most players like me, so are looking to keep new players coming in, however you cant get cheaper than giving away the game for free, better hope they buy season passes.

I did spend quite a few hours on FH and I did pay for that the initial tag price of the game. I also bought the expansion with the Wu Lin and the Pass with the 4 hero in it. But I won't buy steel pack as there are not needed.

Also, when I see how the game was supported by Ubisoft, I am wondering if I should have bought all those because they clearly do not deserve it.

I do not really care about your opinion on that matter btw.

Perhaps you should refrain from posting in 'general discussion', where people compare opinions and thoughts in what is called 'a discussion'.

@MrBdur sorry i missed your question before, the Beta had GB/CGB like it is now, then for no reason at launch they decided to change the mechanic to be CGB had to be input ONLY when they physically grabbed you (as in the animation), not when they started the GB (going on the GB timing kinda guaranteed you were grabbed). I dont know why they ran that experiment with the launch of the game, but it made the mass cliffing and spike traps a double whammy as they were everywhere and the CBG was a bizarre counter intuitive mess (rather than the functional version in the beta akin to what we have now)

Lads, can we try to understand each other better??

IDK why but almost always luna and Sweaty discussions derivate in belittling other Points of views or to be belitled. Both had strong opinions and thats cool , but yeah if someone is participating in a public forum, opinions are to be cared and debated , if not why post ?

I think spend money to Buy whatever You like is totally subjective and that depends on the economic circunstances and motivations of the individual , so being stupid or not only depends on those factors. I bought both season battlepasses while I totally understand those who think is an unnecessary expense. I did it to finance My favorite game and yeah to show some cool exclusive things.

Homever I still think they can do better than the last bpass , if they don't add more value I will maybe stop buying them. I showed enough support already, but the next purchases will entirely be chosen by their added value.

True, I did get sidretracked abit, although I was trying to keep inline with the thread being about somone leaving the game, and drew my own comparison that while i'm not leaving, im not spending $.

I respect your attitude to the purchases, not everyone has to, but to me its like buying a jersey for your favorite sports team - you can watch without it, but its a way of supporting your favorite team. Its fine to not buy one and unfair to expect someone without the spare cash to buy one, but its also a way I get enjoyment out of my money and to give to something I like.

If the August patch is good, and I start liking this game a little more like I used to, and next season pass looks good, I might well buy it again to show my support. But not at the moment.

I guess my point ultimately was that i'm not a happy supporter, and am not buying the jersey this year. If Augusts patch is good, and next season looks good, I might jump back on the bandwagon.

this was the main reason why my friends and i originally stopped playing the game. starting a new character meant that you'd have to be willing to get beaten into the ground for at least 4 reps before you could put up any kind of fight. that process in the game was just plain miserable. there was no skill involved in a rep 7 vs rep 1, and everyone popped revenge after 2 hits because revenge stat build was the meta. We quit playing shortly after the centurion and shinobi were released and we started playing again once we learned the gear system was removed with the Marching Fire update. To this day i can't understand how that system lasted as long as it did.

The point I raised that triggered this gear conversation wasnt that the old system wasnt stupid (I didnt like it). It was that players like me, who like you thought the system was stupid, but who ground through, preservered and hoped/dreamped it would get better. What they did to us when they got rid of the gear wasn't to reimburse the steel costs of your gear, or give you anyway to trade in/up to the new system. What they did was default all your gear to the default perk (so say 1,600 points in remedy) and give you 5 loot crates (regardless of whatever your ingame gear was worth in terms of time/effort). If they just refunded me I wouldnt have minded, or say give me a perk swapping week to transition, not a problem.

They basically punished their players for hanging in there & showing some loyalty (my gear score was just the slight increase to everything, and that was really only to hold my own into revenge builds). I had 5, 3 build each geared up champs (different aesthetics) - defaulted all to the same perk, and game me a nice total of 5 crates (not even for each champ, thats to share )

That alienated alot of the OG's who had actually stuck it out. The waited day of gear overhaul was actually finding out all your efforts were being deleted with nothing to show for it. Start over. And the cherry on top is the system that came in was... this mess that heavily favored certain classes (sorry, I couldnt..resist...the pun...). Its like waiting for an update for your phone to fix annoying issues, and when it comes you find its deleted your contact list and renamed everyone 'gerald'.

Yeah Sweaty Sock I can understand, August will be the breaking point of this game for good or bad.I hope for good.

About the gear system I was one of the angered players that defended the system, but later I allowed myself to see the plethora of imbalances and unhealthy things on it. But I Fully agree on the way they cancelled it was awful, the costs were never reintegrated fully or with an equivalent value. Truly bad timing and process by Ubi.
