Campaign is fine but totally different from pvp

The game is Unique and extremely competitive, i'm adicted to it, Even if sometimes I get frustrated.

Combat is brutal and depending on your character like an ultra fast chess Game. Practice is needed , but when You end winning with top kills or won a 1 vs 4 no other game can produce that amount of endorfines. No shooter or rpg can do it to me
Surething, will do. Yeah, I've been waiting for a decent brutal medieval pvp online game since forever, For Honor got my attention with its visuals and concept back when was announced but its modes didnt move me to buy it, the lack of a game like that made me come in here to start this thread, I'm glad you guys are mature and helpful, I can see myself becoming active in this forums. I hope with the upcomming updates more ppl get back to the game so I don't feel like I purchased a single player game heh.

A big balance update is due August 6th in order to make the game more read based. The changes include:
    • All attacks are being made less reactable by 100ms.
    • The damage to most attacks is being reduced significantly.
    • Stamina penalties removed from being parried, blocked, and doing feints.
    • Hit stuns to certain light attacks are being reduced. This allows players to dodge out of endless light chains.
    • Frame advantage is being introduced. This allows the defender to get the first attack after being attacked.
    • Zone attack input being more responsive.

The update may be make or break for For Honor. There are those that won't play the game until the update and others that didn't respond to well to the changes during the testing period. We will see how much of our feedback gets acknowledged in the update and how the community responds to it.

Or more like ,how core combat changes will affect the "attracting new players" problem of our Game?
Just saw yesterday that twitch viewers are under 300, peak is 600 on average for for honor. Totally a shame, compared with for example single player games with over 5 years, with at least 1000 viewers. How Can I be a succesful streamer with that numbers Ubi?
I don't think the game will become more attractive to bring in brand new players. At an average level of play the most significant changes are less damage and the stamina changes. More easily put while the patch is inarguably better for the games health the significance of each change and how they play with each other is likely lost on most players that actually play the game. So even if Ubi did some god tier marketing to get this news out I don't see how you can swing this patch as attractive to people who don't already know a significant amount of the game.

I can potentially see a higher player retention from the patch. But if that offsets the amount of people this patch will drive off I do not know.

I see, well I remain optimistic about player retention at least haha, thanks for your input, Raime.

Don't worry Caellestis, there are enough players to play for many hours , at least around 5000 on steam plus other 3000 on UPLAY, at given moment.

In Xbox one around 10000 and a PS4 many Say at least 20000.

The accounts are around 7 million combined worldwide, the peak on steam was 120000 or so in 2018. Is expected a raise when the new hero is available.

So, since I got the game the last two days after the traning, trials and story mode, I’ve been playing Arcade Mode and I’m having a BLAST! So glad I bought the Fire DLC, the unlocked chinese heroes helped a lot less grinding, I want to get some heroes ready before jumping into PvP. The further I dive in the next challenges will get me more prepared I suppose?

Also, Im not sure how the improvements work yet on gear, I am reluctant spending the steel and other things in it, should I just improve the initial loot or just buy the ones from the crates?

Flyinstil, the gear in the first 2 or three reps Will be almost all very basic so even if you buy crates they Will be the same, basic. The gear Quality is determined by colors and your own rep. The Best are purple, and I think they begin to appear at rep 8 or so on each character, the more reps You have on a char the Best gear. At rep 20 and more You only receive purple gear for that character. The gear itself is not purple only the box or the enmarked box around it.

The perks are not a defining factor in the fights. At least in PVP and only can be active in 4vs4 modes. Perks and feats don't apply on duel , only to custom duels if you choose the option to be active.

They help but You can beat anyone without them using only skill. Depending on your class and character (and your playstyle) I can recomend a optimum set of perks and feats , but at the end is how You like your Main to play.

About the marching fire DLC with the discount I think is a good choice. It's more fun if you can play it with a friend in coop, also You Will earn some exclusive DLC effects and ornaments, very cool ones. An added bonus is You Will have an easier time grinding for steel and daily orders.

The quests can prepare You at the higher difficulties by gaining mental fortitude, manage high pressure and by trying antiganking techniques , but PVP is in many aspects different. What I can recomend is a few custom matches of every 4vs4 mode against bots to prepare yourself along Legendary quests.

I see Papillon, guess I won’t spent any steel then for now, maybe unlock another heroes as there are some I think interesting, is there a place to check how each one performs in pvp? I saw in other threads ppl talking about Warden, Centurion being meta, I usually like to “avoid” metas to not play the same as the majority even if that costs me suffering more than usual, but for me is all about entertainment.

Also, when you say reputation, would be that the same as lvl? I saw that some dailies need to be done in PvP matches right? Not all of them can be done in arcade I imagine.

Unlock heroes by now Will be better than buy crates for less than 3 rep heros.

There is a difference between your total rep and the individual rep of your chosen heroes. For example My total rep is 53 and is the number at the side of My name or tag , and the other number when you are seeing at any hero is the reputation with that hero, my Main is peacekeeper an with her i'm 28 rep.

Every rep is divided in 20 levels , for example if You are rep 0 with Shaolin and playing with him , You Will be gaining levels until 19 , when You reach the 20 th level , You Will be a rep 1 , and the levels restart again. The maximum rep possible for each character is 70. Your total rep as a player is the sum of all your character reps.

I can recomend faraam a You tuber to see how a great player performs in 4vs4. Also the custom matches against bots serve a lot.

About arcade I think You can, depending on the order. Sometimes You just need to play any mode 2 times to fulfill an order and that includes arcade.
