PvP wise, For Honor or AC Valhalla ?

Hello warriors. I'm a long medieval fan, always played online pvp games but For Honor never interested me because it lacks a sandbox mode, as I am not a fan of matches as it tends to get boring pretty quick.

Since there is not a single decent online PvP action medieval out there, I know AC Valhalla is comming, but Im starting to think about buying For Honor so I come here to ask you veterans.

Is it worth it? Is Ubi updating it often outside dlc's like tweaks and fixes ? I heard connection issues got better, but are there enough players to not sit for too much time waiting for a match ? And last one, can I access everything in the game with Steel without spending RL money?

It is absolutely worth. If you like pvp games this game is dope. Devs doing a great job and im sure it will improve even more after august when the fight update changes come.

For Honor with a sandbox mode and an open world to explore with pvp that would be really awesome but yeah maybe in for honor 2. Additionally to the pvp mode you can also play Arcade mode, the legendary difficulty is pretty challenging and good way to improve your skills.

If you plan to play with friends, probably yes.

    At a moderate rate.

Be concerned about the matchmaking. 15 min of wainting. Often you will be disconnected.

Can I access everything in the game with Steel without spending RL money?
No. For some cosmedics you will need real money. For Arcade Mode you will need to buy Marching Fire expansion, that I don't recommend.

The has dedicated servers now, if that's what you mean by connection issues so no more P2P synchronisation issues. We've had them since 2018.

The game still receives regular patches. The patch notes can be found on the official website:
    https://forhonor.ubisoft.com/game/en-gb/home/

The game is on sale on Steam between 50-67% off, depending on the edition you buy. The Steam Summer Sale ends 9th July. The current deals are:
    • Standard Edition @ £8.57
    • Marching Fire Edition @ £13.85
    • Complete Edition @ £27.71
    • The current Year 4 Season 2 Battle pass is £8.59 if you want the exclusive cosmetics and executions.

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/304390/FOR_HONOR/

Sorry about the UK pricing. Yes, you can unlock DLC heroes through steel but you will need at least the Marching Fire Edition if you want the Arcade mode where you can unlock exclusive cosmetics as well as have an easier time looting event content.

Does the game have its issues? Yes. The game has a steep learning curve and balance is an ongoing issue. Matchmaking isn't ideal since low rep players can be lobbied with veterans.

Is the game worth getting? Definitely, especially if you get it on sale. No other game plays like For Honor, combat wise. I'm addicted to it because of the gameplay and cosmetics. I've been playing the game almost non-stop since beta(Feb 2017).

Should you buy the game, when you get started, I recommend doing all tutorials and playing through the campaign to get to grips with the mechanics. I think completing both earns you steel and some cosmetics as well so their worth doing. Both the campaign and Arcade can be played on co-op with a friend.

PvP-wise? AC has always been a Single Player game, and the last installment that had PvP was Black Flag, so what makes you think Valhalla will even have one, and be good on top of it?

For Honor is easily the game for PvP. The dev team behind it, the community, the delays, the slow/questionable balancing... it has its issues. But it's still by far the best melee fighter out there, in my personal top 2 of the best PvP designs I've played.

That video is an early concept trailer of For Honor before the game went into production. All action was performed by actors. It's not actual gameplay.

That video was released around 2015:

Congrats, now to not end being frustrated , do all the tutorials, expend some good 2 to 3 hours in the warrior trials , plus one hour with your chosen Main in the training arena against various bots, BEFORE You enter multiplayer.

Campaign is fine but totally different from pvp

The game is Unique and extremely competitive, i'm adicted to it, Even if sometimes I get frustrated.

Combat is brutal and depending on your character like an ultra fast chess Game. Practice is needed , but when You end winning with top kills or won a 1 vs 4 no other game can produce that amount of endorfines. No shooter or rpg can do it to me

If you have friends to play this game then i'd give it ago. If not then i'm not sure I could recommend getting it. But maybe my mind would change after we get this seasons mid season patch. It fundamentally changes the game as a whole.

That's the topic I want your bibliotecary expertise of the game to give an opinion.

Or more like ,how core combat changes will affect the "attracting new players" problem of our Game?
Just saw yesterday that twitch viewers are under 300, peak is 600 on average for for honor. Totally a shame, compared with for example single player games with over 5 years, with at least 1000 viewers. How Can I be a succesful streamer with that numbers Ubi?
