    Feedback, based on my first impressions

    Heya,

    I just wanted to share my impressions of the game and with that some feedback/ideas!
    But first of all I want to say that the game is very enjoyable and spent the weekend playing it with a friend!


    • The text channel navigation is clunky

    First, it would be easier to set the text chat on "enter" by default, since all games I (and probably also others) ever played accessed the chat via the "enter"-button.
    I saw the option to change the button in the keybindings, but "enter" is still not a possible option: "Invalid button".

    Second, I set switching the text channel on "z". Everytime I switched, the "z" got written in the text box and I needed to delete it before writing the actual text. It is also not possible to write a text and then switch the channel.
    An easy method would be setting it on "tab" by default. All other keybinds are deactivated when chatting anyway. I recommend checking "Overwatch" as an example.

    I understand, that giving the player the freedom to chose their settings is great, for me it was just really confusing when playing for the first time and secondly, not everyone likes to spend 10 minutes, before starting to play, with setting their keybindings.


    • Text chat visibility

    The chat could use some colors for the text channels used. I was never sure if I really only wrote in party or squad text chat.

    An easy solution would also be tags in front of the names, like:
    [Squad] xyz: Hello!
    [Squad] bla: Hi, let's do this!
    [Party] xyz: We will so lose that.. D:


    • Used keyboard

    Either it is because I set English as the language for the game or it is set by default, it uses the English keyboard.
    I couldn't find an option in-game to change it.


    • Voice chat

    I recommend adding a setting/keybind for "Mic on/off". Holding one button for push to talk gets exhausting, sometimes the finger slips or someone forgets to even hold it. Open mic is nice, but I don't want anyone to hear, when sneezing, because they cannot turn it off in time or a team mate which is constantly breathing/swearing into the mic.

    I also could not find an option to mute someone?

    Also, joining voice channels, especially in a BR shooter should be easier than going to the audio settings and then switching it.
    Implement it in the menu when hitting "esc" with an easy button "join squad voice chat" or "join party voice chat", I also recommend checking "Overwatch" for this, since the navigation is very easy there.

    It is not possible to hear each other when tabbing out of the game and checking something on the desktop.

    Lastly, we got disconnected of the voice chat multiple times for no reason. In one second we could hear each other and the other second it just went off, quiet.


    • AFK kick

    I was just standing still, in the lobby, waiting for my match to start. Suddenly I got the message "You have been removed from the match.", for no apparent reason, besides being afk. A warning would be nice, like a countdown:
    "Please move, otherwise you will be removed due inactivity." - Timer of 10 seconds.


    • General

    1. The revive is buggy.
    It just gets interrupted for no apparent reason, neither we got shot at or anything else. I am also not quite sure if we are allowed to look around while reviving, so we stopped that, but the bug still happened.

    2. The delay in switching weapons causes the zoom-function of the weapon to bug.
    I switched weapons quite often, already ready to zoom in, by holding the right mouse button, but nothing happened. I would appreciate a faster switch or recognition of the button clicked.

    3. Sprint gets randomly interrupted, after sliding.
    Often times it happened, when sliding got interruped by clicking another button (or just stop holding "c"). It caused the slide to stop, the "shift" button is still held down to sprint, but instead it results in a crouch walk.

    4. Please increase the damage of the collapsed area, some people start camping with snipers in there.

    5. An optional kill-cam would be appreciated.
    First to spot hackers faster and second, to learn something for yourself if they made a nice move.
    Implementing this would maybe a bit harder, since it can interrupt the flow. Maybe a picture in picture option of the kill-replay would be possible, when standing at the spot where one died. Only for the players own death-location, since the other death-points are reserved for a revive. Or maybe in the menu/lobby?

    6. It should not be possible to stack walls in the air, this is "Hyper Scape" not "Fortnite" and can get really frustrating: https://youtu.be/cwj7Gwec6A8
    So once a wall is set and the "hack" gets used again, the previous one should disappear. Eventually making a wall collapse when it has nothing to hold on would prevent walls appearing in the air.

    7. One of our squad members reported he suddenly went in 3rd person mode. We don't know what caused it. He was dead, got revived and probably hit a button while getting revived/animation was playing, which caused the bug.

    Nice thread tho! I personally never seen anyone camping on collapsed area, but the dmg is still ridiculous. Point 1, 2 and 3 happened to me. Also in point 6, you can even slam, aim 100% down and still put a wall below you, which is even more broken. IMO you shoulnd't be able to put a wall on the air, and neither stack walls.

    I saw people really taking their time getting out of the collapsed areas, instead of running for their lives. Even looting the people they just killed from behind.

    Just imagine a full squad of campers on the edge of the map, in the collapsed area, with a fully upgraded healing hack, waiting for the last zone to come in. Maybe even sniping from there and only coming forward to take part in the last fight. (The field of view is limited, it is hard to see people far behind, textures also get washed out when using the sniper. Might be my PC though.)
    While the fight for the crown is going on, it is easy to just camp in one of those areas since everyone is running after the crown-holder. So, I would not be surprised if someone might just set up there and snipe everyone from a distance. Also sometimes I have no clue where I get sniped from, so I assumed this is a possibility. I even saw once a crown-holder running a bit in this area, I don't know why tho! Just imagine them building a fort with walls and full healing in there! - I hope I don't give anybody some ideas to test that out! xD

    So on one hand, it is good that the buildings disappear and it's easier to get out (which does not make sense when the damage is almost zero). Maybe it is possible to get spot faster, but let's be real, who really checks the collapsed area for enemies? There is no real punishment for just shooting people in the back, which just try to get out of the area.
    In "PUBG", for example it is really funny to see enemies running next to you (at least the last time I remember playing), because they really needed to get out of the red circle. So you needed to decide if you wanna die in order to get this one kill or risk that they will reach the save zone first and kill you, or even fight back. In case they had better gear they were even able to survive that attack.
    As I remember they had also issues with red-zone campers, so I wanted to make aware of and give it a shout-out.

    Yeah, I also recognized the slam thing, since it is harder to aim vertically, especially in the air it is hard to react to that. The mobility and possibility someone gets through that is insane!
    I am fully with you on that wall-thing, should solve (at least) the building in the air thing!

    Oh, what I meant was, if someone slams, they go really fast up and for the enemy it is really hard to aim that fast (in the air) vertically, especially when the slam gets cancelled and they fall very fast to the ground. For the person who is actually doing the slam it is easy to just look down, do a few shots or just place the wall, as you said.

    I can't watch the replay, it does not start for me.

    I assume this is because it is hardcoded to other options. However, I do agree it makes sense to use Enter to bring up a chat box in most games. In Siege, it is usually T or Y depending what chat you want to use.

    I'll get this reported up to be looked into for you.

    I will also double check on this, but I don't believe there is an option currently.

    Also, joining voice channels, especially in a BR shooter should be easier than going to the audio settings and then switching it.
    Implement it in the menu when hitting "esc" with an easy button "join squad voice chat" or "join party voice chat", I also recommend checking "Overwatch" for this, since the navigation is very easy there.
    I remember Overwatch's system when I used to play. I liked their system a lot since it was really easy to join and leave as needed.

    Just to clarify, you didn't get disconnected from the match itself, correct? Did you check your settings to see if you had it enabled when this happened?

    I am double-checking to ensure if we have an AFK timer active currently. It could have been a coincidental timing of a disconnect issue. Some players have been reporting random disconnects. Did you get any error code along with that message?

    This is a reported bug and we have a fix coming for it!

    This has also been reported as well! It tends to happen if you are still holding down the ADS button when you swap weapons. It's being looked into!

    I agree that the Decay needs an increase in damage ticks. This is especially an issue for late-game with the Crown.

    An optional kill-cam would be appreciated.

    It is certainly a really annoying experience to go up against. We have been taking note of clips and discussions around these kinds of strats to highlight to the team.

    This funky bug also has been reported!

    I haven't ran into this yet, but that does sound hilarious. If it happens again, a clip would be great!

    Yes.
    Since we spoke the whole time in party chat and I had open mic activated I did not left the voice chat (As far as I know there is also no button assigned to it, which I maybe accidentially hit.). We also did not got kicked from the match itself.
    My friend stated he could hear me till the half of the match and suddenly my voice diappeared. I couldn't hear him since the beginning of the match.

    I am double-checking to ensure if we have an AFK timer active currently. It could have been a coincidental timing of a disconnect issue. Some players have been reporting random disconnects. Did you get any error code along with that message?
    No, only the one I stated. 2 days ago the same happened for me and my party member, this time we were running around, so probably it was only a disconnect from the server.

    I also agree having a kill cam or something like it would be helpful in cases where you think someone may be cheating, but also to learn what to look out for. You would be right in that it would disrupt the flow of the match, but I wonder if it can be timed to the time it takes for you to transform into the Echo state?
    I was also thinking about that (So kind of a killcam like in "Overwatch", till you respawn). The only thing I am afraid of will be that it might be too fast to concentrate on it, so a later replay in the options would be a nice feature aswell. This can also shorten time while waiting in the lobby for a match to start.
    Otherwise stretching the time (to concentrate on the killcam) transforming into the Echo state would, again, disrupt the flow, since we want to help our still alive team member as fast as possible, by calling out the enemies position.

    I haven't ran into this yet, but that does sound hilarious. If it happens again, a clip would be great!
