So at this point, does anyone think Massive regretted trying to implement raids?

My memory might be wrong but didn't the 1st raid get delayed? I know it wasn't well received due to how incredibly skewed build diversity was and only DPS was the only way to go. Then we have the 2nd raid getting delayed more than once and it seems like people aren't all too happy about this one either.

I'm really starting to think they shouldn't undertook this task, there's no telling how long the 3rd raid will be if there is one.

I vaguely remember hearing that Iron horse was delayed due to "other priorities.*" Who knows for sure, though. I don’t think they regret implementing raids, but I strongly believe scrapping incursions for them will hurt Massive's credibility. Game could've had both.

    *cough Division 3 cough*

I like the second raid. Remember that people on social media will mostly complain about stuff.

I would love a third raid. Hopefully we have more information on Division 2's plans at the Ubisoft Forward event next Sunday.

The problem is Massive can never win when it comes to content.

People complained when the original Div 1 DLC came out - wah!! we want more story missions not a game mode nobody has asked for.

So Div 2 has free missions as its DLC offerings - wah!! we want game modes not long a** missions we cant speed run in 2 mins.

In every thread you see discussing the different modes they had in Div1 everyone has a different opinion - for every person that loved survival there is another that hated it and thought it the biggest waste of resources to make. And, depending who you want to believe, lovers or haters, each of the modes were either dead after a few weeks/months or the most played content evar.
I am sure the sky scrapper mode will suffer the same fate this time round too.

Incursions were initially critisised as they werent the full raid experience - now wah!! we want incursions not raids.

Im guessing here, but I wouldnt be surprised if a section of Div1 PVP players had a little moan about the size of the DZ as they couldnt find anyone to gank, sorry, I mean PVP with
Hence the smaller DZs now to try and force more PVP "action".

I know the "easy" solution is to give everyone what they want but people do not realise how long it takes to make 1 mission, 1 raid, 1 incursion etc. etc.

Add to all of this the fact people expect to be able to play the game for 6-10 hours a day every single day, even though burning through new content in the 1st few days and casuals expecting to be able to play the hardest content and get all the best gear only playing 2 hours per week. Its a recipe for numerous sections of the community to cry rivers.

i have worked in game developement for over 25 years (as an animator) and all I can say is that I am glad I am not trying to make the decisions about what content will please the most people for this game, it is an almost impossible task, because everyone feels their opinion is the only one that matters.

Would say it's mixed result, second raid is truly something quite epic and challenging and feels new, first one feel like a 8 man incursion with no matchmaking. Personally would have preffered other stuff seeing how long it takes to make a good one

How about a raid designed Division 1 Underground style...

    - Always a new multi-phased map generated for the event
    - Random objectives, puzzles, and in-map activities
    - Random Hunter and NPC rogue agent encounters
    - Directive options (ie: Fog of War, Ammo Hoarder, etc)

    Could be VERY cool.

    so i don't raid...
but i think personally what is missing is that they should do a raid "story mode"...

no raid exclusive rewards.. but at least this would give players a chance to experience the raid story elements..and maybe get some commendations/comms or what not... (and i don't mean the same commendations for the actual raid)...

I just think it's a shame i can't run my agent through it to experience the work that the devs put into the environments and such...

I care not for the challenge and such.. a dumbed down difficulty story mode would be nice... just what I think...
again.. i wouldn't be asking for the raid rewards.. just to be able to play it solo at a dumbed down version for the story sake.

anyhow.. i don't think the devs should feel in any way negative about their own work.. it's a great raid from what I have seen.
And it is important to have these for those players that enjoy it.

    I can't imagine that many people %-wise play them, I know I don't.
