    Stinger Hive nerf/buff

So with crap update 10, and lets face it, it has been crap, the stinger hive had its base damage reduced by 20% but each teir level was supposed to increase damage by 20% instead of 10%, so that should an overall increase in damage. However, my hive is now utter ****e, doing less than 800k damage when previously it was just under 1m.

I used to be able to chuck a hive in a room and have it pretty much clear it. Now, it needs almost all its charges to take down a veteran, and cannot kill a Heroic elite.

WTF are you doing to the game massive?

So...because you cant just walk into a room and one shot things on heroic with one charge from a hive somehow they (Massive) messed up? You just want to casually scroll through content without using any real skill? and because you cant some how Massive messed up? entitlement much?

Yeah, pretty much. We put together effective builds for a reason and that reason isnt for someone to come along and wreck it because they are too incompetent to do anything else. People want effective diversity in their builds. Not the ******** they keep giving us.

Hives are still very effective in PvE you just have to well actually use other skills and shoot a few bullets....you just cant hide behind cover and throw out one hive to clear out a entire room now....and thats a good thing imo...there is plenty of diversity right now....think outside the youtubers box and see what kind of build you can come up with on your own...

Not sure where this all came from but I can tell you my hive is deadly as heck. No skill even needed. Just god roll status effects on all 6 pieces of gear, regardless of what gear you use, and watch things die. The only thing my hive even struggles on are heavies/tanks. But when those come along, pop a couple of Oxidizers on em and they just melt. And my build is mediocre at best, since I'm a casual who doesn't have time to stand at the crafting station for hours on end. Imagine what it could do if I actually started focusing on my talents and weapons as well.

Agree youtubers with there self proclaimed meta builds lol
Take it with a grain of salt.
Ah yes I totally love my hive and fire starter with vile mask and eclipse protocol all gear calibrated to SE/Skill/CHC/CHD in that priority i pretty much clear not entire rooms but more like the entire map!
Oh and i run around all of it shooting my pistol with insync to boost my hive and god love the close encounters with the pistol!
So yah but like the thing that kill me the most .... is like yah myself... this eclipse protocol build of mine is the fastest suicide in the game
And pretty much know it too i see the firestarter cloud just popped on me and sheeeet i fire my gun insta dead.
Lol melt my own face and for some reason I chuckle so hard every time it happens, the dead tag say killed by myself.!

    Nice.

Iv'e been using the hive/Oxidizer combo since WoNY came out. all i have is a 6 tier yellow, (tech spec/5 yellow 1 blue)

My current Stinger hive is at 1.1 million damage, refil speed 2.5 secs/10 m range/duration almost a minute

, oxidizer at 200K damage add in the Pestilence for more poison/Tech support and Trauma for morwe damage and more status and it melts NPC's.

It's not min maxed either.(i use it for room clearing) if i go long range the oxidizer and assault turret)

PS: OP my stinger hive before changes did a total damage output of 970K now its at 1.1 million. (iv'e made no changes to it)

I am using the stinger hive with the new status effect gear set that passes around the status effect on death, I have NPCs shocked, on fire, and bleeding all over the place and my hive hits at over 1 million damage before I get overcharge.

I am using technician and have built into skill damage where I can.. I have 18 stingers and I generally leave the hive to do it's thing and when the hive is about to use it's last stinger I use my rifle to kill which gets me an overcharge and my 18 stingers are back in less than 10 seconds and ready for the next engagement. It helps me fly through some challenging missions if paired with the drone. My RNG is terrible and heroic is out of the question, for now.

My next build with this set will be stacked into status effects only.

The Hive has its place against Reds/Purples, and is a very handy defensive tool against Rushers with their low HP pool. However, it is definitely the back-up to my Stick Bomb 'Burn' launcher, which is just fiendish with EP. Some rooms of missions you do not even need to use your weapon, as successive waves arrive as the previous wave's final member(s) dies from the SE and pass it on to the new ones; pure domino effect.

I'm afraid tThis is not my experience of the Oxidizer. I have been having trouble with Heavies/Tanks since I switched from my usual Striker Drone/Sniper Turret combo for a change to EP with all Status Effect on my kit. So as I ran through the Hyena stronghold on Challenging, I switched to the Oxidizer as anti-armour. I took on a Hyena Heavy with 9 Oxi shots (7 base + 2 after their CDs, all placed dead on them so they were in the midst of the effect) and I gave up with it to just hammer them with my shotgun at point blank. I switched Oxi out for my beloved Sniper Turret and the next Heavy lost their armour after a couple of shots and then put them down with the follow up shot. Far easier, far less hassle, infinitely more effective, as well as being safer because you don't have to keep exposing yourself and take time to aim. Frankly, my experience of the Oxi is that it is weak vs. a Heavy's armour.

Are you shooting them as well? Oxi by itself will barely touch a heavy. I use it to help with the melt. I'm running a Sig 556 with In Sync on it. If you put the Oxidizer on the heavy and then put rounds into him you get the double damage buff from In Sync. In Sync is literally my favorite skill based weapon talent since it came out. Used properly, that talent can add a whole new level of lethality to any skill build.

I do seriously need to start working with the sniper turret. That is one variant I have barely touched in the game. But now that I'm getting better at skills and targeting I need to start working with that gain. For turret I always went assault as it just attacked things leaving me to my own devices during the battle.
