I’m not going to speculate on the nature of the Raid “document,” but I do think Massive owes the players who engage with the raid an honest explanation.
But while there is a lot of speculation surrounding that, we do know what certain content creators have said and how they behaved on social media. It’s still a nasty look for the community whether they were serious or trolling. That’s what irks me even more.
For every “content creator” or “streamer” there are many of us who have supported Massive and The Division since the beginning because despite the issues (some of them quite large) we care about the world that they have created and the story that they’re telling, even though they struggle in telling it sometimes.
I fall into that group. Despite my reservations I found myself getting excited for the new season, and I’ve enjoyed it so far. Hell I even changed my mind and bought the premium track (I know, I’m addicted to gear dyes). But I have to tell you, this whole thing with the streamers feels like one big middle finger at the community in general, and is going to end up feeling like a kick in the rear end if nothing is done.
I know the mods are just doing their jobs, and I don’t envy them at all. Still I hope we get some more formal info and communication from Massive sooner rather than later. I also know if I was developer who had been working on this raid for months or more, I’d be pretty ticked off too.
