Well, Belcher makes the 1,500-lb aerial mine, but, unfortunately, only in 1:48 scale.

(Go to: "1/48 Conversion Sets" then "WWII Weapons Sets" and "RAF 1,500 lb Mine & 250 lb Depth Charge")

Oooh, looks nice - same range as the BoB pilot that took my fancy.
Seated Lufty pilot with groundcrew chap (sold seperately) - might be a pricey way of doing it if you need a few...might just be adding to your frustration.

I have to say that's one of the most impressive figures I have ever seen, bar none. The face, the muscles, the fit of the uniform---it looks exactly like Boyington. He was a wrestler and the stance is that of a wrestler. America's Hercules---not exactly the brightest spark but a good man in the bar fight over Rabaul.
Finishing up the sanding:
Had to do quite a bit of shaping on the wheel fairing, and lower rudder to get them streamlined and near the right width.

Ultracast are THE bomb for resin quality, realism and customer service. I ordered the UK tank crew a number of years ago and the transaction was smooth as silk.
