    That's a beauty Kimura!

    Liking the figures, Sheerluck

Thanks again for kind words, chaps.

Now for the worst bit of the Hurri kit. The perspex is really bad. I've done what I can, but I'm sure this will put a lot of folks off the cheap big Revells. Just look at the distortion...

That hurricane is simply amazing, awesome job, looks very used up. Also good job on the canopy painting and weathering.

I didn't touch my FW for a few days, I'll get to it when I feel like it. May be a day, or 2 weeks....

I think I get your method, LF; you are making a winged Toby jug---and the effect works.

I see what you mean by the distortion but like you said what can you do LF, you may want to fill the gaps with a bit of filler then touch it up theres not much more you can do unless you go for an new canopy, try hannants they might have one.apart from that problem its looking damn good m8

Leit you have made me jealouse with that welli of yours.

Ooh, that looks nice, Leit' - certainly steering me towards their 1/72nd Welly.

Cheers, Buglord - I'd have been annoyed if it wasn't a cheapie. All good practice, I want to use the same techniques on the Stirling. Might get another up to date big 'un in the near future now I've got some confidence.

Lovely 109, old chap! Beautifully finished.

Didn't quite finish the Hurri tonight - not much more to do tomorrow before I surrender the table for the duration.

Getting to look like how I imagined her when I started carving all that old green plastic...

Will have to paint out those naff circles on the gun tapes. Next pics should be the finished article.

Museum quality Matilda Kimura! 10 out of 10.

109 is a beauty Buglord. I think those early 109's are the best looking. The weathering is just right too.

Hurri looking fatastic LowFLyer. You might be able to get a vacuform canopy for it. Even with the canopy you have it looks darn good to me!

No 109 progress from me this week. Darn girlfriend has drug me through every store in town Christmas shopping! I pray that it will be all over soon. In the mean time I've snapped a few photos of the Trump F6F-5 Hellcat to go along with Leit's Welli. The wings could be a problem on this kit as they are spaced just a little too loose when built extended. I really wish they would do away with the folding wing option. It's got a few other issues too like the already noted bulge behind the cockpit which I really don't find to be much of an issue or even much of a bulge. I doubt it will even be noticeable under a coat of paint. The reviewers carry on like it's an unbuildable kit because of this. And the last issue is the lack of brake drum detail just like they have done on all of their US fighters. I'll steal the brake drums from a set of resin wheels like I did on the Jug. Overall I'm pleased and I think she'll turn out to be good looking Cat.

This gives you an idea of just how big the Hellcat is. It's actually a bit larger than my massive Jug. I'm going to need a bigger house if I keep this up much longer.
