Hi Ubisoft, please forgive me if this is not the right place to post this, but I spent a whole day trying to figure out the best place and ended up here.
A good friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with Appendicitis. For those who don't know, Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix and it is lethal if ignored. We have been friends for 2 months and she is a very skilled player, I'm proud to say that she is much better than me in terms of reflexes and timing her actions.
What I'm hoping for, is for Ubisoft to find it in their hearts to do something for my friend before it may be too late, I'm typing this right now half expecting that it already is... Her doctor told her that he isn't sure of what to do and that he has to find a solution for her condition, which is why I'm expecting the worst here.
Of course all I'm asking for is something For Honor related. My friend Lai(nickname of her psn name) is a Warden main, so I was hoping Ubisoft could do a little something for Warden. It has to be something that can be done quickly, like maybe a face reveal(if it's already premade) or anything that can be put out quickly, just to make my friend happy for which could be her last moments.
I posted here to also get some help from the community. Maybe they will have some better ideas of what can be done for Lai as a Warden main.
Please, I would really appreciate it if anything could be done. If any information is needed, you can better reach me via twitter: https://twitter.com/TeaCatSan
Is this a joke? A common, treatable issue where they remove the appendix. I had it for 4 months, ignored it, had it explode and fill my insides with puss & start turning gangrenous, had emergency surgery and weeks in hospital, and had to go for a waking followup operation where I was conscious as they tried running me under the scan and stabbing my with pigtail drains to get my digestive system to turn back on, which feels like being the chicken as it gets put on a chicken kebab (the worst part about being awake is hearing the surgeons telling the assistant they missed and need another drain, for the 4th time...).Originally Posted by TeaCatSan Go to original post
The fact its diagnosed means its no longer a problem, its similar to day surgery.
Sadly this is not a joke. My friend has told me that she has been having the symptoms for quite some time and lost track of how long. She has been going to the hospital but the doctors weren't treating it as appendicitis since they haven't considered it to be such at the time.
When she finally had a seizure in bed(most likely from the pain) her parents rushed her to the hospital and this is when they made some further examination to determine that she has appendicitis.
And a diagnosis is a medical procedure done to identify an illness or condition on a patient, usually based on the symptoms that the patient has. It has nothing to do with treating it.
I did look up that a common treatment is to cut off the appendix but since the doctors weren't sure of what to do, I figured that the infection must've spread or the appendix probably ruptured like what you had described.
To update on her current situation, the doctors did finally get back to her, saying that they will begin an operation on her next week, but they also mentioned that it doesn't have a 100% success rate.
She hasn't given me all the details, I'm trying to respect her privacy and also trying my best to get her mind off the matter, she told me it's very stressful and she can barely get any sleep at night...
If they know what is is and are happy to wait weeks to operate then I wouldn't worry too much, being experts in the field surely that gives you some confidence in their relaxed attitude to the situation (to give a contrast I was in surgery within an hour or so of hitting the emergency ward - my doctor made me go there after refusing to do anything other than send me to hospital). I was in hospital for the better part of a month and the whole time the nurses were berating me for being an idiot (the surgeon even dropped by once to tell me i am a total moron - Australians are a little like that).
My brother got it a few years after me but didn't ignore it for months and he had an overnight keyhole operation and I picked him up the next day. Its bad if undiagnosed and complications arise. If you are lucky to live somewhere with advanced medical care (and unlike me actually use that medical care... believe me I now go to the Dr alot more) its pretty much a non event these days.
If u wanted to do something about it look at helping people in countries who cant get access to that healthcare and die of common, treatable health issues.
At the moment there's nothing I can do for other countries with poor healthcare, I don't have enough influence or money after all. I know there's things that I could do but it would require an amount of effort which I would have to put my life aside for.
Thanks for the info though, it does put my mind at ease a bit. I hope I can really trust the doctor's judgement on her condition, I know they're experts and I want to trust them but you can never be too sure about these things.
You were asking a listed company to change its product for a friend with a treatable illness. No offense, but you can put the effort in, just this is a girl you know so you dont see it as effort.Originally Posted by TeaCatSan Go to original post
