Yes, it's easy to see from my specs where I've chosen to use money. A strong graphics card with lots of ram will almost always save the day, esp. on un-optimized games. But the rest of my computer is not extreme (in my opinion) </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Originally posted by yngvef:

The key here, with this game in its current state, is the videcard and Vram. Rockin a GTX580 with 1.5gb+ vram does help. I've seen people with 2gb 6xxx videocards also reporting good FPS and smooth sailing. There is a crapload of rendering going on in this sim and like it is today, it's not really optimized for a balanced workload.
Two weeks!
I wouldn't say extreme either but most def high performance. And it looks very nicely balanced with that top notch graphics card to crown it off. I'm definitely thinking about a GTX580 myself, before ordering a Sandy Bridge upgrade for my Q9550 rig. Windows 7 and a SSD did wonders and I'm planning on another SSD just for games.
game plays fine for me too.
i just played the bomber intercept mission over london and averaged in the low 20s fps with everything cranked to the max except buildings, which were on high instead of very high. no tinkering with anything else at all. the only thing i shut off was the epi filter. res was 1920x1080.
im even using my regular video card settings to, which is 4x anti aliasing and 8x antiscopic filtering.
im sure ith a little fooling around i could greatly improve the fps avg (this was over london afterall, with buildings on high). but the game was playing ok even as it was. i even managed to shoot down a couple of heinkels.
with the same settings playing over ocean, im averaging in the 30s in multiple plane dogfights. even though mid 30s isn't great, the game still played smooth enough that i didnt notice any stuttering.
after seeing all the ****ing and moaning on the forums, im now led to believe that its mainly by a handful of people with multiple log ins, who are trying to play this game on crappy machines.
come on people, we have known for years that we would need a pretty dam good machine to play this game. it shouldnt come as a suprise that your old clunker chokes on it.
the hardware for my system costs about 1000 usd. i know thats alot of money for some, but we've known for a long time we were going to have to spend some serious cash to play this game at the higher settings.
here's my system
I5 2500k no OC
asuss p8p67 deluxe
gtx 570 superclock
8gb ddr3 1600mhz memory
750w psu
sata3 HD
one final thing. the game looked great at my settings and steam was very easy to use.
If I only count the forum regulars then the ratio of happy to sad is high. We could all be happier but that's no cause to act like spoiled kids.
Some people get good results, they post about it. Unless they're lying, it's possible. The hardware can support the game they play using the CoD software. There are even Youtubes made with Fraps or like running with the game and not just over water. Maybe Fraps ran on a less-loaded core, the O/S should handle that.
Thats low 20s with everything maxed out and with multiple planes in the air over london for crying out loud!!!
not to mention im running 4x AA and 8X AF.
my point was that the game was still playable at max settings over london, with no tweaking to my system.
but i guess your to dense to understand that.
It's possible that on some systems there are conflicts with CoD. The AVG thing is one such. There's probably people who hit that without knowing what happened and quit for good right there. The Net4 thing is another. Don't forget drivers and always using a driver cleaner when making the switch. Not being able to say "grass and shadows *might* have to wait till later" is a different kind of conflict, the thing to fix sits right behind the keyboard.

....Appologies and stories of hard working will get no pitty in my post .
why dont you and UBISOFT offer some kind of partial money back refund for an incomplete game, that would be far better than reading about excuses and hearing about the hard work thats required in order to fix this game.
I think it's current working condition is only £19.99.
I had high hopes for this sim, but the bad parts shame the rest of the game ... and UBISOFT .
Maybe in a few weeks I can come back with something more positive, but at the moment I just feel ripped off.
