We all know about the Unidad bunker that was used for Operation Oracle by now down in Montuyoc (-18.8061, -67.0112), but those of us with sharp eyes and long memories might recall a similar section of the map where a train line goes underground off the map.
There's a small unmanned Unidad compound (judging by the 2 vehicles parked outside)up in Monte Puncu - almost directly Northeast of the mission "El Sueno's Proposition" (at -13.0434, -609135. the train line goes in under a couple of reinforced silo doors and actually continues for some distance out of the explorable area of the map.
I suspect there may have been another bunker planned for up there at some point which sadly never got implemented. What does everyone else think?
My best guess ... train was meant to carry the supplies, gold and other bling for El Sueno's mausoleum. Which could explain gold rush missions in Espiritu Santo and a few other places.Originally Posted by gunbladelad Go to original post
Given Ubi's previous efforts and special operations, this was likely a multi part mission, taking place in several provinces. Landing on the train with classic helicopter controls - now that's a decent challenge. Vehicles would have to rely on scripted QTE (quick time events), which leaves only bikes for getting on a moving train, assuming that was the idea.
Other than a great train robbery, another crossover, alternate transportation for the rebels, they could have used the train for returning to Barvechos during Snafu. There's a lot of possibilities. Unfortunately, a lot of great ideas were limited by existing convoy and cache mechanic. Best example of this is the dialogue between rebel informant and Nomad, telling us the resistance in El Boquita mission would be much heavier that it actually is (2+ helicopters, half a dozen armored cars, 2 armored trucks for the money). What we got is still great, but could have been even better with different design choices.
And yeah, +1 for Oracle in Monte Puncu idea. Watchman was a much better fit for Montuyoc outpost or even MOB Jaguar.
