I remember there was supposed to be a new concept: that the Faction War and its various shifts were going to be grounds for story development. However, we got exactly 2 Journals, the last one being posted over a year ago. To my knowledge, none of the devs have said why they ended so abruptly, and why nothing came to take its place.
If the devs aren't at liberty to discuss why the Journals stopped, could they at least speak to why nothing's being posted in the Lore tab on fh.ubi.com to take its place? If nothing else, it's nice to see the story being developed at ALL.
good point. If I recall correctly that was announced with Year 3 Season 1 when Black Prior was released or so. The way the faction war has been abbandoned and forsaken is such a shame. They have forsaken those players of the underdog faction that would still try to engange that game. They never tackled the Mt. Ignis issue which is one of the main reasons why vikings always win by default and by now most players seems to have jumped ship already to not be missing out on the rewards.
And before anybody says faction war doesn't matter and the rewards dont matter, think of this: Being part of the winning faction nets you more crates and steel and of course cosmetics than the others. Crates define how much luxury you have on your hand to use whenever you think you might need some new gear drops for your character. And since there are several events per year crates can be a valueable source to save time. If you run out of the few you have you have to stick to playing the game to get the gear you look for. For some events that you only can attent a few days to it can likely be that you never get then what you desired. Steel of course is also a source that provides you the possibilty to buy crates but you usually don't want to touch that as you might need that for new executions and stuff that is on sale/available for a short time.
Anyhow even whether or not faction war is important or not it is sad to see a part of the game abbandoned in that regard and the intent to draw history from what happens on the battlefield was apparently never put into action. I always expected to have some monomental events on the warmap itself. Places where the entire faction would wanted to get to unlock a certain battle, but nothing could be seen there in that regard at all.
