Dear Massive:
Finally, after almost one year of delay (it was said on a State of The Game stream that the first raid would come in September 2019 or at least within the first year of the game) the new raid has been officially announced. So I decided to give The Division 2 another chance by making a new build for it.
So I went to my 50 people strong clan to see who was active, and what was my surprise?THE OWNERSHIP OF MY CLAN HAD BEEN TRANSFERED TO ANOTHER MEMBER!!!!! Someone NO ONE EVEN KNOWS from all the old members of the clan. I have never seen anything like this in my 30 years of gaming. How could YOU give away my clan this way? We stopped playing because of YOUR mistakes, not ours... and you give our clan to someone no one even knows?
This is absolutely RIDICULOUS! I didn't even get a warning about it...
I will never recommend this game to anyone EVER AGAIN.
From what I've read the leadership is transferred to an active member after several weeks.
If I was in a clan where the leader wasn't around, I would be glad that the leadership would be transferred to a member that is actually playing.
The mechanic of this is a welcomed one, but I agree with OP that it would be nice to have some knowledge about it beforehand, something like a warning in game when creating a clan would suffice in my opinion.
There's always that one person like you pissing people off on the internet. Our clan has been ACTIVE since the beginning of the game, we had around 5 commanders and the game transferred the ownership to someone NO ONE knows... A member that the logs says joined the clan only a couple of months ago, and there were commanders active (not as much as that person I guess, but active)Originally Posted by Adze. Also, I have NEVER seen anything like this on my 30 years gaming, EVER. But you think this is good, OK DUDE, you've got great logic.
I completely disagree about the ownership transfer, as I work on a cruise line, and obviously I can't always be playing the game. Also, that's exactly WHY we have several commanders in the clan, which are also admins on our Discord community, and are the ones that are actually active in the game.Originally Posted by SevenNVD Go to original post
But I could even agree about the game transferring ownership but why didn't I get a notification? Why was the ownership transferred to any of the commanders? My brother, who has been active in the clan ALWAYS and is a commander, did not get the ownership (he is one of the oldest and most active members of the clan)
I'm sorry about being all flames... but this is ridiculous! The only reason why we stopped playing is because they did not do things right. We waited for sooo long for the new raid, for them to fix the builds... so many things!
I love The Division franchise, but I will never pre-order or get one of this games on launch, they are always broken. Then, they sell them for 3 EUR when they are not even 1 year old as they did... Such a shame!
There's a couple of threads on this already. The current mechanism is stupid. While it's great to have this feature in case of a non-responding/non-active clan-leader, leadership assignment should follow the command hierarchy and not some random person. Also note: the inactivity timer is more than 90 days, so if it happened to you sooner it's probably another bug.
They need to notify us when they do something like this cause I was in the desert for work for a few months not able to log in and when I came back my clan had been transferred to one of the randoms in it. I reached out to Ubisoft and they said they have no control over it. So an automatic system they implemented has no off switch for clan leaders, and they have no manual control over it? that's just stupid, there are websites with manual controls on basic automated things. What if there is a hiccup in the system? "sucks to be you" What if someone is deployed to a remote location where Ubisoft servers are impossible to reach cause international support is a lie? "go to hell". I would have been fine if it transferred to one of my admins but no, it transferred to some random who logged in that day and they said I have to wait for them to not be on for the 2 months or ask them nicely but they are never one when I am and there is no way to message someone unless they are in your friends list. PRE-PLANNED FAIL SAFES ARE IMPORTANT FOR EVERYTHING.
