TU10 - Loot Changes/Rolls - First Impressions after a day of Farming (6 Hours)
Hello all, just wanted to post my experience with the new loot drops after roughly 6 hours of farming/playing. I Completed roughly 6 Heroic Missions, 2 Legendary Missions, 5 Control Points, and roughly 10 activities (Control Points/ Activities on Heroic.
1. Generally speaking, the loot "seems" better, however, when you have mostly max rolled gear, or 90+ % gear, getting items/gear that are at roughly 75% rolls are useless to me.
2. A lot of gear, rolled with opposite core versus secondary attribute rolls. Meaning, If I got a Walker piece, or Fenris, or Providence for example, which drops core attributes of Red, most times the secondary attributes would drop as dual yellow, I.E., useless to me.
3. To the point above, if I got an R&K for example, or Wyvern / Hana U, which are primary core yellow attributes but would they drop with 2 Red attributes or 2 blue attributes.
4. Aside from the above, a lot of items are still dropping rainbow rolls, which as well know are mostly useless ESPECIALLY on chests or backpacks.
5. A good portion of the drops which had a God roll core or God roll secondary attribute, the other attributes would typically roll less than 50%, I was under the impression with the changes when playing Heroic all items minimum stat rolls would be at least 65%, which of course is still mostly useless, but not sure why I'm seeing drops with attributes less than 50%.
6. I saw a total of 3 purple items dropped today, mostly from random world loot boxes, any box that required a key would always drop yellow. So no issues or concerns there.
7. Control point loot from the Supply Rooms were mostly all useless, nothing I would use for a build due to low attributes or a combination of the above in #'s 2 and 3.
8. I didn't get a single exotic drop today, however my clan mates that I ran with got quite a few, we did Capital Hill for the weekly Legendary Cache, and the SHD contribution, items we received were not usable due to low rolls. Plus side, is you can share these items with people in your party, so if someone doesn't have a particular exotic you could drop it for them. This is a nice change, recommend at the beginning of each week if you do the SHD Requisition Project ensure your team is filled, so you can distribute exotics as needed to your clan mates or party who don't have a particular item.
9. While my clan mates seemed to experience a higher rate of targeted loot, for example Walker and Harris at Space Administration HQ I saw maybe 4-5 items per run, which to me seems low in a 4 man group on Heroic, or maybe I should say similar in terms of targeted loot compared to the previous title update. However my clan seemed to get more drops than me, I'll chalk it up to bad RNG for today.
10. Named items were somewhat few and far between, and most named items we received were NOT the targeted loot for the mission we play. For example I got like the umpteenth Cullebre from Space Administration, versus a Walker piece, same with my clan mates.
All in all, not overly excited that the quote unquote loot changes were anywhere near effective. While I did loot a few triple God Roll items, I'm not complaining, but just that about seemingly 95% of the loot I did get was still mostly useless. These are just my humble observations from today, its one day, so it doesn't mean much. However after watching streams and YouTube vids from people playing the PTS it confirmed my thoughts, that while increasing the min/max values for a particular mode (i.e. Heroic or Legendary), the loot was still not worth the effort in most cases, leaving me with that "empty" feeling that my time was somewhat wasted.
Take that with a grain of salt, I enjoy the game play as I always have, the ambiance and gun play is great and playing with friends/clan mates makes it much more bearable, just can't help thinking at times, what's the point?
