I mean emote spamming to me is like the equivalent of t-bagging in halo. Sure some people do it to be mean. some people do it just for fun. I spam emotes at the end of the match to celebrate with my team who's also doing it sometimes.

I see a lot of talk about emote spam on here. I know for some, it can be seen as a form of toxicity, while for others, it's seen as a friendly way to meme and play around in-game. I'd love to see some reasonings on both sides on why you feel emote spamming should be kept or removed in some way.

emote spam is toxic rather than fun, especially if all other players do intentionally emote spam rather than fighting. I'm with introducing a cool down period of 3-5 seconds between emotes

I wonder how people can consider emote spam a direct form of harassment.

I never get annoyed by emote spam because...

A - I start doing it back which nullifies and potential toxic intentions and immediately makes the other guy salty, or brightens his day because he wants a friend to meme with.

B - Next time i fight that guy I HAVE to kill him and return the emote spam to his corpse.

What aggravates me personally is when some weeaboo kills me and actually just does one single emote on my dead body as if he is a bot that just won a 1v1. The enemies sheer attempt to immerse himself in the gameplay makes me cringe so hard my head starts to hurt.

Whether people want to admit it or not, they more often use emote spam to insult and humiliate than to "celebrate". There are also sound effects that are spammed with emotes and it's really annoying. I would say that a good 3 ~ 4 seconds before reusing an emote would be perfect.

The issue here is that the emotes were designed for that before emote spamming even became a thing.

Emote spamming is hands down some of the best random bonding there is to be had in this game.

Generally I get the impression from the tone of those who feel the need to post about disliking it so much is that they take things way too personally for a video game, perhaps lose their temper a bit too easily.

If there is any indicator to be seen, just play the game, and it becomes obvious that those who complain about emote spam have got to be just a very vocal and tiny minority, while seemingly the vast majority emote all the time as part of their fun experience.
