Well, since you think a small sample is representative of something, I did a test. I emote spammed every single players I killed in my recent games.

I emote spammed them every single time even if all I did was landing the final blow or used cheese tactics to kill them.

Well, I did not have to wait long to get hate messages and such. Looks like I am not the only one that find emote spam offensive when used in such a way.

When I think "toxic" I think of people using slurs in chat, insulting enemies and teammates and going out of their way to troll other players. I had a player in a game recently who fit this to a T: We were playing Test Your Metal and he was berating every single teammate every time they died to bots, using lots of racist slurs, ect. He started singling me out in particular when I started talking back to him and honestly I had a heap of fun teasing the guy, he was a real card, that one.

But other than that? Toxicity seems to be a pretty mild thing right now. All in all I've seen far, far worse in other games.

its not toxic if you playing in pve modes like test your metal ,
its quite fun ,,insulting teammates is not ofc
    the mode is super easy
but trolling and emoting wars is fun and a change for a repetitive and easy mode

Yes it is. It doesn't matter if its PvE or PvP its toxic.

The community is pretty toxic but it also depends on the game is played.

Some teams will stick together no matter what so you find yourself in n 4v1 situation often, that's kinda boring and can definitely cause you to emote spam once your team has broken they team down

For example if they were to remove emote spam because you choose to be offended by it, this doesn't remove their ability to do something you consider rude. What if wardens started repeatedly feinting their shoulder bash over your corpse? It would look like teabagging. Are you going to demand that shoulder bash be removed too? What if centurions start feinting their heavies over your corpse? The animation makes him crouch into it, and repeating that would also look like teabagging. Are you going to demand that be removed as well? What about when the character crouches into a fighting stance when they get into lock, spamming that would look like teabagging too, should that be removed?

What you are asking is to control the behavior of other people in the game based on your feelings. Every action someone makes has potential to be good or bad, are you going to remove the good because of the bad? I see far more people who have fun with emotes or use it to celebrate victory with a team of people they likely won't play with again (or at least not often) than people who use it to mock others. Do you really think that it is justified to take that away because your feelings are hurt? Not only that are you sure you're interpreting what their doing correctly? What if they're trying to meme with you, but you take it as mockery?

Now flip the script, and say you do get things changed based on your feelings, what about other peoples feelings? What if someone is racist and thinks that the black skin tone should be removed from the game? Having it in "hurts" his feelings too, which is the same justification you give. What if someone finds any of the characters to be offensive, do their hurt feelings really justify the removal of that character from the game?

Not necessarily, the most often I see emote spam is by a team together after a dominion match. They all get together and spam. You might think that they're mocking the other team. Or they could just be celebrating their victory. Or goofing off. Or burning time. Or tradition. In this instance you don't know, but there are more positive possibilities than negative. In 1v1 it's a little easier to tell, but you still don't know for sure. You can't gauge the emotions of your opponent for sure because you can't see him. Even if you are voice chatting and he's emoting and doing everything you hate, you still don't know if it's something he's doing to distract you or upset you so he can win, or if it's because he actually has animosity to you.

At it's core your argument is for censorship, because you don't like it. It's no different from some religious nut somewhere getting Harry Potter books banned from school (yes this actually happened) because they contain witchcraft. People are going to do/say things that you don't like, be it insults or emote spamming, but that isn't your concern. Your concern is only how you react or if you react to it.
May be a few day old thread but I have to point something out about your position in this argument. You're making literally the same argument racists make when they say slurs or prejudice statements and you have the gall to say "Woah! Too far!" when they get punished for it. Emote spams have been used in numerous other games as other forms of tea bagging. This is not the isolated situation you're making it out to be.

The way you word statements with your specific PoV. You seem like the type of person that complained when Rainbow Six starting suspending/banning players for offensive language. As I said earlier in this, I have the sneaking suspicion that if a racist pos got punched, you'd be first one to tell others control their emotions and be nice to the racist pos.Emote spam is toxic but not at the same level of bigotry and ect. It'd be simple to fix emote spam. As for your Warden scenario, you'd have to actually go out of your way to do that and that would show who the toxic players are clearly..
