    L7 PS TimmyA: 160, H:422, aoe charge dmg 267
L7 Cata A: 161, H: 530, summons 2 level 6 rats. I assume this is the same rate stats as the card, which at max L6 is 56 health and 68 damage.
I didn’t check the charge timer on either card, I need to look at that.

As I said, PS Timmy maybe could probably use a health bump, but movement speed aside, they provide equivalent value as individual cards. Catapult however plays better with swarms, which is prevalent in fantasy. I suspect that’s why Catapult T is considered better, because he synergizes better with a deck type that dominates. Also the rats and other swarms help distract other enemies which helps Catapult stay where he is and remains better protected.
If you are playing adventure, PS Timmy isn’t a card that synergizes with other Adventure cards, because adventure cards aren’t really designed for synergy, they are designed for damage output.

Outside of health and speed, what other buffs would you want?

Just listing stats on a page doesn't prove they are equivalent in any way. Cards work well/poorly due to the full package, not just the attack/hp stats. Movement speed for a ranged unit is a HUGE factor in its utility. The crazy fast speed of PS makes him a terrible opening card, and he pushes himself into range of getting hit very quickly so he's not good to play mid-battle after a failed push or to start a counter-offensive after losing a bar. This is magnified by his low hp (we're talking 20% less!) and lack of anything to take pressure off him (like the rats can do).

So from the full package (as well as long, long, long experience using both cards over the years), I'm very confident repeating that PS is trash the way he's presented now while catapult is right up at the top.

That said, you don't need to do a huge number of things to change it. Match their speed and give him a HP buff so they're roughly equivalent and I'd be very happy to give PS another shot. If you wanted to stick with the damage output theme of adventure, you might keep his HP a little low but give the charged shot a little boost. That would give a very fun and characterful card that is actually useful again.

Right, value in meta and value of card stats are not the same things. You are suggesting (correctly- imo) that the PS Timmy value in meta is weak, regardless of his card stats. I’m pointing out games are designed based on card stats and developers usually don’t anticipate every impact on meta, number crunching players do that. PS Timmy health and speed could use a touch, and then it would be on par with Cata Timmy from a stats perspective (note- in most game design the ability to deal direct damage is considered more valuable than other traits). However, it still wouldn’t solve the fact that Fantasy is chock full of beefy cards that individually generate high value for their cost but that also synergize well with other cards. Adventure as an individual theme overall suffers from a lack of synergistic cards, which I believe is the bigger issue people are poking at with PS Timmy.
Another way to look at what I’m saying (and I think also what you are saying) is: many cards appear weak because the current yardstick of comparison includes a pretty notable but small set of disproportionately powerful cards (value to card cost). For example, Weekend events aside, when is the last time someone played a high end Fantasy deck that didn’t include Shield Maiden Wendy, Token Rogue, Executioner, or gnomes?

Meta or not, he's a bad card in need of a buff. It's not about appearance, he just doesn't perform. I have both at lv6 and play adv/fan. Catapult is better in every conceivable situation. If that doesn't signal a need to buff, I don't know what does.

My main deck, which is Fan/Mys, does not include any of those 4 cards. So I make for at least one! :P

Well, that's probably helped by the fact that slave and rogue are absolutely not top meta cards

I'm assuming gnomes will get a nerf based on the dev Q&A response. They're the most commonly played card in the game in top 1000.

Cool you play something different, but there's little question you'd get a rank boost by including wendy4 or gnomes6.
