    Playing the daily challenges...

How do you guys approach them? Do you cheese them to get them done as quickly as possible or treat them like legit missions and play them properly?

I use to take advantage of any and all shortcuts and cheese my way through them as quickly as possible.

Now I’m trying to play them in a legitimate manner as I would as part of the campaign. But I struggle with some... for example, one way to cheese through a mission that says “only using <insert unusual weapon class here>” is to just Sync shot the entire base from the drone. It’s tedious and not fun, but quicker than trying to do a mission over and over with the wrong tool for the job.

In fact, sync shots are the solution to most challenges. Another tactic is to fail the challenge but tag up at the RP before you complete it (if that’s possible) to reset the challenge.

What’s your stance on this? How do you play the challenge missions?

For many of the missions that require an interrogation or an extraction, I do the missions however I like - at the point of the extraction (such as the Sam Fisher mission) or when I grab the person to interrogate (such as "The Train Yard"), I divert to the location named to start the challenge then proceed to complete the challenge by doing the interrogation / exfiltration.

Sync shots are a godsend on missions that require you to clear a mission with only specific weapons - particularly the "Complete Bank Heist with shotguns" challenge as most shotguns will alert the entire base - which is pretty much suicide on extreme difficulty...

    You'll luv this Chris -

I'll do them in many different ways, as the mood suits me on that given day.

I've even tried taking out the three doctors with one 'nade - gotten two has been my best so far. Other times, just sync shot & rebels to do the job, and move on to what's ever next.

Doing the challenges without team AI (wherever possible) for a long time now. Which was a bit intimidating at first, but I've learned a lot since, so it's gotten quite enjoyable. Also, using many different approaches (on foot/ground vehicle/helicopter/halo jump/...) and different locations for challenges that allow this.

Only solo challenge I'm cheesing consistently is Snafu, it's broken anyway so why bother. Never played Operation Oracle, regularly skipping The jungle moved and Operation Watchman, since both are buggy beyond belief for me. Predator would just crash to desktop during escape sequence 70% of the time (wasn't always like this, mercenaries update broke it). Not a fan of timed escort missions either, so whenever El Pulpo wants my help, my Nomad is suddenly unavailable

Some challenges don't specify a weapon, only lowest distance from each of the targets, which means it can be done with helicopter weapons, grenade launchers or even rebel mortar.
It's possible to take out all 3 (suspicious, but not alerted) doctors with a single grenade, but that depends entirely on diversion lures. Diversions and guns for hire can also do the trick.
Hardest solo challenges for me are "while unseen and using only CQC". Doing them properly without team AI is brutal sometimes. "The instructors" at least allows for difficulty cheese, since Nomad can just execute the last instructor on starting rally point. Bank heist with only shotguns on extreme can be difficult, however all entry points can be blocked with vehicles, which leaves only a few enemies smart enough to teleport through the building to deal with.
Experimentation can often create a new cheesy approach. That's one of the best thing about Wildlands, it has nearly endless possibilities.

Doing the challenges without AI team would indeed be a true challenge. Without Sync Shot, a lot of the weapon constraint challenges become borderline impossible.

I’m curious... guys like Venom and Mike... you must have nearly every item in the loot pool by now? (I started a new thread on this topic)

When I stoped playing on PS4 I think I had about 50 items left to get from the pool, but the rate of dupes was getting insane. On PC now, I have over 200 items in the pool to work for.

This is how I did "The mule doctors" solo in stealth, without team AI or rebels, while using only 1 frag grenade, as per challenge conditions. Combination of diversion lures and noisemaker drone usually works best. Enjoy!

Just luv the headgear!! Must make the natives go nuts!

Yeah, it's always that third doctor ...

One thing which is nice is that you can practice this as many times as needed. Cool!

I see the momentary freezes are still a thing in Wildlands, even though in BP are even more pronounced.

Jesus, the voice over and spanish of the Lady Nomad is truly horrible, I had never heard it before.

I had never tried landing the helo there thinking I was going to be seen in the instant I got close to the roof but I guess not.

No wonder you don’t need the AI Team... you’re the frickin Predator!

But cool. It obviously takes a lot of patience as you earned a whopping 13XP for that.

Haha, thanks. Nah, I'm just a quiet professional who killed the predator, took some of his gear and continued to honor his legacy
It's my main character, all challenges and experimentation get done on it. XP is low mostly because of previous challenges and helping out friends and task force members with theirs. 13 is in improvement, used to be 10 before I started playing irregularly. Madre Coca went down to 7 XP last year. Her camp is a useful firing range for maintaining mid range accuracy with sniper rifles.

Anyway, challenge from yesterday, no AI or rebels, minimal casualties (5 total). Keeping the kill count low (under 7) prevents respawning bugs and random detection. Diversion lures/noisemaker drone rarely work on instructors and flashbangs can be a bit buggy here, but this time everything went as planned. It could be done without killing additional guards, at higher risk of course.
