Well, I play in Android so I cannot be sure 100%, but I linked my game to FB when I was to change my phone to recover my progress in the new one, and after it delinked it from FB. I kept my progress, so I don't think this would be different.

I can verify this as well. The only thing I can imagine losing progress would be to de-link FB and then switch SIM/SD cards before re-linking.

I'm also interested in the iPhone switcheroo...

    Just poking this again.

So, when is the Android solution scheduled on the roadmap?

I don't think the problem is in transferring the savegame. I had to change my phone, so I created a Facebook account, linked the game to this account for some days, and then delinked it on the new phone and closed the Facebook account. I keep my progress in my phone. So you do not lose your progress if you leave Facebook.

If to use the Apple App store save you need to start again, the problem is in how the Apple App store works. That makes it a rather useless systems for all veteran players.

I think that what it is saying is that once you delink FB it won't be updated anymore. Then you sync to the APP store from your device and "should" lose nothing. I think that when it says your APP store save will be a "new game save" it is actually just a new copy of your "old game save". You just can't sync to both places. Additionally your save on FB will still be there in its form from before your delinking.

This question has been brought up several times with NO clarification from UBI. I wish they could post an accurate description of how it is supposed to function.

Also, I've asked before if anyone had tried this and been successful, but no one has answered that either.

Alternatively, you could try this and if you did lose progress, or have to start a "new" game, you could then re-link your FB as a backup, maybe...

I went to logout and test your theory but everything about it suggested I was creating a new account with my Apple ID and I wasn’t able to just link it to my current save so I wimped out. I don’t want to link a new one to my Apple ID and be unable to link my existing save in case they ever do save it!

I thought I’d double check their statement as well and it definitely says you can’t transfer the save or sync to a different account!

    • “You will not be able to transfer your game save from Facebook to the App Store. Once you log out of Facebook and log in to the App Store, you will be starting a new game save.“

Yes, it is a horribly worded sentence that leaves far to many questions.

That is why I said that I wish UBISoft or Bunny could post an accurate description of how it is supposed to function. Take the ambiguity out of the process.

Or maybe someone that has done this already could respond and tell about their experience...

I have seen some people that claim to have more than 1 device linked to their FB account.

Hi there! I'm going to do my best to clarify things a bit:

-Once you log out of Facebook, you are logging out of the game save connected to your Facebook account. However, once you log back into Facebook, the game save connected to your Facebook account will still be there.
-This means that you can technically have two game saves on one device, one linked to Facebook and one linked to the App Store.
-Some players have opted to keep their original game save linked to Facebook and start a new game save linked to the App Store.
-As I mentioned in the update notes, it is not possible to transfer the game save linked to your Facebook account to the App Store. I know this is not the best news and I can understand why this would be frustrating, but it is not possible.
-The benefit of Facebook is that you can transfer your game save across iOS and Android devices. However, if your game save is linked to the App Store, you will only be able to transfer your game save across iOS devices.
-It is absolutely possible to play the same game save on multiple devices if you have it linked to Facebook or the App Store. For example, I have my game save linked to Facebook and I am able to play the same game save on my iPad and my Android device.

I hope that helps a bit! If you have any more questions, please let me know!

Hi Bunny, thanks. But I'm still not sure that the question asked is answered.

Does un-linking FB cause the game to reset to zero progress? In other words, does un-linking FB cause you to have to start the game over as if you were a new player?

    Secondly,
Does linking to the App Store cause your game to loose all progress and have to start over from the beginning? In the case where maybe the player never linked to FB, will linking to the AppStore cause lose of progress?

Hey Phantom_Blaze! I do see quite a few players starting from the beginning again once they reach a certain level so it is pretty common. I don't think it is likely that we will add the ability to transfer progress from Facebook to the App Store, but I will be sure to pass along your feedback on the matter! I do understand that the new App Store option is not helpful for players in your situation and I apologize for that. I hope that there are better options available for you in the future!

Hey there! I just tested this out on my game save just to be sure, and when I logged out of my Facebook account, my game was reset to the very beginning. However, once I got through the tutorial, I was able to log in to my Facebook account again and my previous game save was there.

If you never linked your account to Facebook, linking your game save to the App Store should not reset your progress. Hope that helps!
