For Honor - Camera behaviour to change

I wrote this post after a chat with the support team, who has been very kind. I also posted this post in the feedback, but i want it ti be visible, so I put it here too.

The camera zooming in and out when there are other NPCs or players in the surroundings are breaking my experience of the game.

When the camera zooms out, it zooms out very far, far to far. Thus the guard mode widget of the opponent gets very small too and then the red arrows that warn you about incoming attacks become too small, way to small for me at least.

This is very disturbing for me,as in the middle of the crowd of everything that goes on the screen, the information of where the block or parry is easily lost. And I find it very hard to react on time.

When the camera zooms out, I die 90% of the time. So sure, I am not a great player in this game, but still good enough to do good moves and defend myself as long as the camera sticks close enough to my character, on third person perceptive.

A zoom out is not bad in itself, but it goes so far from the character. It is way too much.

We need a option that allows us to manage how far we want our camera to zoom out when our surroundings are busy. A option that allows it or disable this zoom out, or the possibility to set a maximum distance for the camera to zoom out.

Or if this is not possible, a option that allows the widget of the guard mode to keep its normal size in order not to become a tiny thing in the middle of screen full of stuffs going on, and dozens of MPCs (which I do not care really).

A zoom out for nearby opponents, yes, but to see around our character, we do not need to see the full battlefield (I abuse on this last image, but I want to make sure that I will be understood).

So that's it. We just need an option to avoid the camera to zoom out far from the real action, the most important information that keeps you alive in this game, the widgets of the opponents' guard mode that tell you where from the next attack is coming.

Currently, the camera zooms out to give you awareness, but sacrifice this vital information and makes it a tiny red stuff flashing slightly and the middle of tons of other stuffs that are also flashing on the screen.

For the moment, I have to stop For Honor, even if I think it is a great game, this problem is a source of frustration and I do not want that.

It might seem to be just a little comfort thing, which is probably is, but from my point of view, it ruins my experience of the game. So I will try again another time or when a setting option will be added to solve this issue.

Just by curiosity, Am I the only one who have this problem?

PS: this issue has nothing to do with the size of my screen, I do not play a tablet, not a big TV either, I play on a gaming laptop with a pretty big screen for laptop.

Well.. hope this post will help.

    Bye.

the zoom out is very useful tho ,
think about shinobi or shaman from range
or someone trying to throw a feat at you even if there is indicator showing up on your character if you actually see him to know the correct timing to act is crucial
especially if there is 2 or more players around you , therefore the zoom out can also save you

if you have sight issues have you tried wearing glasses ?

Well, I do not need glasses, my point is that different people will have different opinions on that, so having an option to manage your own preferences regarding the camera behaviour can only be a good thing.

Happy for you that you like it as it is. It is not my case. Also I did not say that the zoom out of the camera was a terrible thing for everyone. So pls, keep your glasses' advice for your self, it is not very nice to say that, when I just tried to point a problem for me and others that feel the same.

    Thank you,

Well... After I daid I stop playing For Honor even if i really thing it is a good game, I thought I will give it so more try.

I tried again, but really this camera thing puts me off... Good for the ones that manages it, but even if I do not need glasses, the behaviour of the camera feels wrong to me and may be other players, but for me, that's it.

The solution is simple, just having a option to manage the camera's behaviour, its stability behind the character towards [personal preferences.

By the way, the example of shinobi given in the previous post does not stand right, because anyway, the widget of the guard mode tell when and where from the attack is coming, so having shinobi in your sight is let's important than be able to quickly react the red arrow warning you on the guard mode widget, which again, for me, gets lost and flooded with everything that goes on the screen when the camera zooms out too much. This happens in every game.

    So I uninstalled.

This issue makes this game toxic for me, because I can clearly identify what goes wrong for me, it is a barrier that I do not succeed to pass through. I tried, this issue is way too disturbing for me and gets me killed far beyond "too much often".

When I will hear about a way to manage the camera, I will come back, most likely.

Until then, enjoy the game for the once that are happy with the camera, this is only my case.
