So my latest idea is inspired by Steven and Crockford. I believe you guys can take credit for using multiple teams or even save slots to add variety and options to how you play.
I’m using one save slot from a previous playthrough where the team dismantled influence and security. The save slot is thus at Tier 40.
I wanted a way to play in Tier Mode in two different ways. First I wanted a Tier 1 style team with all the toys (Drone, suppressors, best weapons, helicopters, etc) and use this team to do some strategic strike ops. They play campaign missions, and daily challenge missions (as my PC account is woefully missing many cosmetics). This team is based on DEVGRU and is outfitted in Crye gear, plate carriers, NVGs, - the whole kit. They get a mission assignment and then plan an infil/exfil which could include Blackhawk, Little Bird, Parachute, ground vehicle, or on-foot. They execute at night or whenever it’s ideal and they deal with Bowman.
Next I have a team of local indigenous fighters (Rebels) that are low tech (no suppressors, drone, helicopters, etc). Their goal is to build up Rebel forces and support (do all Rebel side missions and free imprisoned Rebels). They trek across Bolivia by dirt bike, 4x4 (Offroader) or on foot building up the Rebel presence and rallying Rebels to the cause. They have rag-tag gear, no plate carriers, mix mash of camo, and unsuppressed weapons. They use guerrilla tactics and focus on all non-story side mission content and taking out convoys, etc. They’re typically in a completely different region from the Tier 1 unit.
It means when I want to switch up the teams, I have to change physical attributes and not just outfits (as the Rebel team all looks South American and has one female member).
It’s a lot of fun as I can play two different styles with one save slot. My goal is to advance as far in Tier Mode as possible as I’m still earning Prestige Credits for tiers on my PC account. Most of my 1000+ hours logged on this game were on my PS4 so now that I’m on PC none of my accomplishments carry over.
Anyway, thanks to all of you who are still active for keeping this forum alive. It’s great to be back in Bolivia. I don’t miss Breakpoint at all.
Sounds like what I do with my 2nd & 3rd slots. Works well overall I've found.
BTW, created a new team and tonight got them to level 11 in one rather long sitting. So tomorrow should get them to Level 17 - then do a hard save and decide what type of run they should do.
I'm piggy-backing on Crockford's idea of using the Unidad base within Itacua to grind. A bit boring after awhile, however practicing on my GL skills quite a bit. Something I've rarely used in GRW.
You know, I was just more impressed with the intro when starting afresh (it's been awhile) over what was decided on for GRB - simply a better production as well as how it was presented IMO.
Yeah, the opening scene, like everything else in Wildlands, has 10x the production value of Breakpoint. I really enjoyed that flight into Itacua and how you get started. The only thing I wonder about is... they have you arrive in Itacua in the middle of the night, but then after the cut scene, they advance the time until morning. It would have been a bit better if you arrived in Itacua around 5AM while it's just on the verge of sunrise so that they didn't need to artificially advance time.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
I imagine it that when they arrived, the team got some chow and shut eye at the safe house before starting the mission to find and interrogate the LT.Originally Posted by Virtual-Chris Go to original post
I always thought that they had a meeting in the hut where they got all the information they needed to get started in the area - where the Santa Blanca lieutenant was and how to get there, for example. There would've been some planning involved in that rather than just racing out the moment they landed.

Yeah man. You’ve inspired a lot of my play in the last several months... cheers! <virtual beers>Originally Posted by CrockfordCK Go to original post![]()
For your team of Rebels; have you been tracking how they impact the game-world as you do the various side missions? If not, I'm thinking of taking a starting character and do only side missions and catalog what happens after x number have been completed, then after y number, etc, etc.
For example, the helos should spawn at the various RPs after doing the 10th rebel support mission.
I haven’t been keeping track. But after doing all the missions in Itacua, I went to Tabacal. I entered the main town, then went uphill to the NW there a Rebel RP just out of town. Not a rebel there. So I continued further uphill. Took out the base there and freed a bunch of Rebels. Then went back downhill. The Rebel RP was still empty. Did a Rebel hack job mission and then the RP was full of Rebels. So it made me think, that as soon as you do one rebel mission in a province, they come out of the wood work. But other than that, I haven’t been paying much attention.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
I’d be interested in what you find.
