Easy fix. You pick your character before you matchmake, then after the match everyone just re ques. No more staying in the lobby, most people dip out after the match anyway which usually ends in searching for another match.Originally Posted by Frozty85 Go to original post
Choosing your character before entering matchmaking would also help the skill matchmaking because the system could matchmake for specific characters. I'm much better with Nobushi than I am with Kensei for example, so it would be more a lot more accurate.
Not having single pick is extremely unhealthy for this game. Now I know the kiddos enjoy their memes, but this is for balance sake. If the game is ever going to be taken seriously (which honestly at this point, I doubt it ever will) then it must happen. If anybody wants their meme matches they can always play customs. The rest of us don't want to play against 4 LBs.
Also, feats need to do 100% team dmg and minion damage. Just a side note, but it's annoying having an lb throw a bomb and gb you without any penalty. Or a raider being able to just throw a fire flask at his team to protect his team. It makes no sense.
While we're at it, any friendly minions you kill should net you -1 points.
Nope, for a fair single pick system it would have to randomly select players that are requesting the hero and it would give players with less recent plays of that hero priority. Pick first = play first is just garbage, at least then people will know that they'll get their turn if they keep playingOriginally Posted by Lunamaria2020 Go to original post
And why is it that the first that picked it is not able to play it ?You want it ? Pick it first. Random pick is garbage.Originally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
Obviously, the better system would be to pre pick before matchmaking but it won't happen.
I already suggested a pick system where you select 4 heroes you like before searching. This could be an alternative that wouldn't slow down matchmaking.Originally Posted by Lunamaria2020 Go to original post
Objectively, first click = play is extremely flawed and does not provide a fair gaming experience. You would instantly be eating your own words when you never get to play a new hero or rework because people have better hardware than you and set up clicker scripts.
Nope, single pre pick before search is also garbage because then matchmaking speeds become impacted. Just look at elder scrolls online or any MMORPG where they have a dungeon finder where you pre pick tank, DPS, or heal. DPS is so massively over saturated that queuing as a DPS takes 10x longer than a tank to find a party. I think to some extent we have to quell the whiners and just put them in a match where they have a chance of being their selected hero.
You do think you are the first to suggest such a system ? It was asked day one of the release. Because before the perks system, which is half baked because it was an emergency system to replace the previous one which was even worse and deter you to regrind another hero because that system gave you better dmg health and such, meaning you could do an orochi something like 30+ dmg per light attacks.Originally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
And the thing is I have excellent hardware and connection, so pick first. You want to pick first? invest into better hardware and connection. Simple as that.
The devs won't add it because they can't handle any form of backlash.Originally Posted by Lunamaria2020 Go to original post
Actually what we should do instead, is do a bidding system where you put up real money and auction off the heroes pick for that match. Can't afford to play the hero? Sucks to suck.
I keep forgetting that everyone on this forum is the best for honour player, the richest person in town, the next Albert Einstein, the alpha chad with the biggest baddest computer his mom's money could buy, literally kars himself; the ultimate lifeform.
I rather be the master of my destiny. If I fail to pick first, it is on my end, I was not fast enough or my hardware was. I do not want a system based on randomness to decide for me which hero I can play and which I can't.Originally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
And yes, I have excellent hardware and 1Gb fiber, meaning I have around 10ms of latency.
Unless we make all heroes equally stale as bread, we need a single pick to prevent unpreventable abuse of a specific hero or move-setOriginally Posted by atac56 Go to original post
