cannot connect to the lobby v 2.1, Win10

    Hello all,

I cannot connect to the lobby in S3 HE. I can see the games in lobby but when i try to connect i get "An error occured while connecting to the lobby" message or similar. Bottom line is that my 2 friends can join each other while i can't join them.

    I tried:
    1. resetting hosts file,
    2. flushing DNS,
    3. connecting via 2 different networks (2 ISP's),
    4. turning off my Firewall,
    5. Adding ports to my Firewall,
    6. Checking integrity of game files,
    7. Running game as admin, with and without compatibility mode,

I run on W10 Pro, build 18363. My firewall is Kaspersky 20.0.14.1085(k)
I don't know what else beside reinstalling the game completely i could do. I attach DxDiag and System information files (https://1drv.ms/u/s!AkkwI6QlyXYrggnP...gavR6?e=eb8X9q). Link is valid for 30 days. Hopefully this helps.
I can add that i played on this PC before without any problems and as i recall no major works have been done beside Windows 10 updates since then.

thank you in advance for any help.

    BR

Hey! Thank you for creating such an in-depth thread, this immediately helps us understand the issue and what you have tried.

Considering you have tried 2 different networks, my immediate thought it your anti-virus or other conflicting software. Have you tried temporarily disabling Kaspersky?

Anti virus is of course there to protect your PC, however it can sometimes be too restrictive and cause every day programs to stop working. If we are able to determine that this is the problem, it can be re-enabled and then configured to work with the game.

On top of this, I would like to suggest disabling all background applications: http://support.ubisoft.com/faqs/000025721/

Let us know how it goes!

    Hello again,

thank you for the answer. unfortunately i coudn't make it work. Since last post i did the following:

    1. completely reinstalled the game - no success
    2. tried adding new firewall rules - allowing all incoming/outgoing network traffic - no success
    3. Turned off Kaspersky completely - no success
    4. Turned off Windows firewall - no success
    5. Tried steps 3 and 4 with different ISP - no success
    6. Turned off every background application that i thought could be responsible (no 3rd party foreground application running, about 60 background apps - mostly related to Windows. MS, or GPU)- no success whatsoever

To be honest i don't know what i could support you with to find the cause of the problem.
From what i can see both S3 and uplay are allowed to communicate on every port this being upc.exe, uplay.exe, uplayservice.exe and siedler3r.exe. Kaspersky network monitor doesn't show any connections being blocked.

HOWEVER - today when i tried connecting to random games i could connect to one of them. which came to me as surprise. And it was only one game. Would this suggest that my settings are correct and all other people have issues with theirs?

    Hey Matti_pl,

Thanks for your update there and I'm sorry to hear that issue persists after extensive troubleshooting. It does also seem a little odd that you were able to connect to one of the sessions.

Do you happen to have VPN active by any chance? If so, can you try disabling it?

Also, what happens if you attempt to create a new game - are your friends able to join you?

    Let us know!
