EXACTLY! I for one was not a fan of The Underground or Resistance but I would never begrudge anyone for loving these game modes or say its a dumb idea to do something like these in DIV2. The lack of a Survival-Esque game mode in DIV 2 is part technical and part developer desire. Survival worked in DIV1 because of all the changes that were made to the map like snow every where which removed all the detail graphics at ground level which in turn made it possible (along with other changes ) to host more then 4 players within the same game world. Due to technical limitations they can;tr get more then 12 players in the DIV2 DZ so its highly unlikely they could make DIV2's map work for 24 players like Survival in DIV 1 did.

That said they could still do a PVE survival-esque game mode without the level of technical over haul required for the first Survival by simply limiting each game session to no more then 4 players or set the entire game session to just one of the DZ's and that would allow for up to 12 players and tat would also allow for a PVP version too.

The team could do a survival-esque game mode if they wanted to without it being a duplicate/clone of the first but I believe they are trying to come up with new/different activities then the first game. So far this has not shown to be a winning design decision but maybe the upcoming PVE game modes they confirmed will change this. I truly hope it does b/c I fear that if these game modes come and go with little to no positive reception that may be the end of the road fort DIV 2.

I have been a die hard advocate for this Franchise since update 1.3 in the first game and even I have stopped playing it with the exception of the occasional login. I'd rather spend time in DIV 1 Survival then do anything that DIV 2 has to offer and that's a shame; something I could not have previously thought possible. I believed I'd have a 1,000 hours in DIV2 before even considering scaling back and yet after half that time I find myself done, waiting/hoping they will do something to give me cause to come back.
