justdancenow.com does not display all elements on Linux

When I open justdancenow.com on my Linux computer, I don't see the full interface:

    Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:76.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/76.0
    https://pasteboard.co/JcoRg0U.png

If I spoof my operating system as being Windows, the interface is suddenly correct:

    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:76.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/76.0
    https://pasteboard.co/JcoQZNg.png

    Please fix this.

Hey thomasa88 - welcome to the Ubisoft Forums!

Can you please tell me any troubleshooting steps you have already performed? Does the interface load correctly on Linux if using a different compatible browser, or if using a different connection, such as a mobile hotspot?

    Please let me know.

The same problem appears in Chromium on Linux. Everything looks fine on a Windows computer on the same network. I cannot connect the Linux computer to a hotspot as it has a wired connection.

I suspect this has to do with maybe Chromecast or some TVs being Linux, and a simpler interface is presented for them, and the webpage thinks I'm using one of those devices.

edit. Troubleshooting steps: As mentioned, changing my user agent to say that I have a Windows computer makes the webpage show the full interface.

Hey thomasa88 - please accept my apologies that we did not respond to you again until now.

Chromium to my knowledge is not a supported browser - the four supported browsers are Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer 10 and Apple Safari.

If your issue is still ongoing, please test any of the listed alternative browsers, and see if you are able to play without issue. Make sure that both your system and the browser in question are both fully-updated. If you're still unable to see the full interface, please provide a short video showing the issue in action, so that I can pass this onto the Mobile Games team for their review and investigation.

    Hi,

I was not clear in my original post. I am using Firefox. Chromium was just a test.

If I make Firefox pretend to the website that it is running on Windows, things work, with the exact same browser.

As for a video, I'm not near my computer at the moment, but I think the original image shows the problem clearly. There are no song buttons at the bottom of the screen.

Just give the info in the original post to the team. They will understand the user agent problem.

Hey thomasa88, thanks for getting back to me.

I understood from your post that you were using Firefox and had used Chromium as a test, however I was advising you that as it is an unsupported browser it was not guaranteed to work, on Linux or not. If it is possible, I'd like you to test a different compatible browser on your system to see if it displays correctly without the need to modify / spoof anything.

A video would be more helpful to illustrate the differences between Linux and Windows if you could capture one as directed - this would also help the team to understand the exact reproduction steps, and how portraying your system as a Windows system helps to alleviate the issue, should it persist.

Once I have the video to go with your images, I'll be able to forward these onto the team further to the information I provided regarding your issue already, for them to determine if there is an issue, or if this is expected behaviour on a Linux system such as your own.

If you already have a support case open, can you please advise me of its reference number as well? Thank you

    Hi,

I have recorded the videos as requested. I enter the room by joining on my phone. As can be seen in the Linux recordings, the song selector is not shown.

    Zip file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uMj...ew?usp=sharing

justdancenow-bug-linux-chrome.mp4 Chrome on Linux. Shows bug.
justdancenow-bug-linux-firefox.mp4 Firefox on Linux. Shows bug.
justdancenow-bug-linux-firefox-windows-spoof.mp4 Firefox on Linux, spoofed as Windows. No bug.
justdancenow-bug-windows-chrome.mp4 Chrome on Windows. No bug.
justdancenow-bug-windows-firefox.mp4 Firefox on Windows. No bug.

I was not aware that it was possible to create support cases.

Thanks for the video clips, thomasa88, they are very helpful. I've watched all five, and can see the difference you mean between Linux and Windows - your favourites bar just seems to fail to appear.

Having re-read our previous posts, and having now seen these videos, I do have a couple of additional questions:

    - Have you tested Just Dance Now on Linux in an incognito / private window within your chosen browser?

    - Have you tested Just Dance Now in Firefox / Chrome will no browser add-ons enabled? (Just in case they could be causing interference.)

Regarding support cases, yes, you can open one directly with the Just Dance Now team if you'd like, which may be best at this stage as I'm limited in what further steps / troubleshooting I can recommend after the above without consulting the team anyway. Please use this link to open a case, and include the link to your video .zip
