I have a question. Is there going to be AVX old motherboards support for Valhalla because there was exactly the same problem with Odyssey. I bought Ultimate Edition to play it earlier but in the end I was waiting for two weeks to run it. I'm willing to buy the new game but I don't want to have the same problems. Thanks.

    QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:

-Are you excited for this setting? If so, what has you most excited?

Yes! Hood toggle, social stealth is back and quick times for assassinations plus a fear system is finally back! Its grittier with a more darker atmosphere as it should be for every AC title coming in the future. I also feel like story telling will be way better than in odyssey which felt like comedy. I just got this feeling from what I have seen in gameplay videos but I will still observe before judging to fast.

-In your opinion, does this setting fit well within the universe of AC?

Partly. Since its another title playing before the actual assassin brotherhood (hidden ones) it actually fits. I just hope future titles will finally see a comeback to an open world stealth focused AC game where we actually play an assassin again with in depth stealth mechanics.

-Are you interested in seeing the religious cultures that dominated the cultures of the land represented in the game? (Norse Paganism and Christianity)

    - Its the setting build around the whole AC plot and many people already know a lot about those cultures because of tv shows and other games. But its still good to have different religions and cultures that synergize with the AC game since those aspects make the game feel alive.

-Have the trailers shown a world that looks aesthetically pleasing to you? Why or why not?

Trailers are trailers. I need actual ingame footage and gameplay that needs to convinve me of the setting. Atmosphere and story telling is very important. The more darker atmosphere and dirtier/brutal combat style makes it feel dangerous and interesting however. Hope the franchise will keep this.

-What are your thoughts on the phrase "A Viking experience in the world of Assassin's Creed"?

Another filler game until the franchise hopefully goes the right direction again. Back to the roots. Assassins, Templars and the ISU.

-What concerns do you have for the setting?

Being more focused on slaying hundreds of enemies instead of going stealth. War simulator like odyssey. Stealth will (again) not be as rewarding as it should be (since you need more time with stealth focused gamestyle). And again the typical "clear 100 bandit and animal camps"

-What do you want to see more of from the setting?

The stealth aspects, different biomes, settlement building and how it affects the open world and the player (any benefits?) and side activities to see if they are as grindy as in odyssey and origins which got annoying very fast.

-Was this a setting you were hoping to see from the franchise?

It wasnt my number one setting I have in mind but it is actually very interesting. Huge potential which I hope will be used well.

I'm sorry for what I will say, because I will seem hypocritical.
    I remember that I said I wouldn't have been picky,but I must be picky.
One month has passed since the creation of this discussion.
There should have been one discussion for week.
Instead there hasn't been created another discussion yet.
Some people even talked about features that don't have anything to do with the setting of the game here.
So will be there another mentors guild community discussion or no?

Roughly 15 years ago I read a trilogy of novels from Bernhard Cornwell (I actually just saw, that this series is not a trilogy but has been extended by more books until the present day) which was set in this time period and is about Vikings, Danes and Alfred the Great. I found this part of british history quite intriguing, basically the birth of a nation in a really unexpected way - and now I will be able to play in these locations and time frame - that is really exciting.

    QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:

    * Are you excited for this setting? If so, what has you most excited?

Yes, I think I am. I wouldn't say 'exited' as it leads the answer.
I am curious to see how well you've managed to describe the life and culture of my ancestors.

    * In your opinion, does this setting fit well within the universe of AC?

I can't say why it shouldn't fit in? The whole idea of the Isu covers almost everything, doesn't it?
Regarding killing and assassination I guess you're good to go. There was plenty of that in that era.

    * Are you interested in seeing the religious cultures that dominated the cultures of the land represented in the game? (Norse Paganism and Christianity)

I am especially interested in seeing how you handle the 'Ásatrú'. There was actually people holding on to this religion through the middelages. Today we have a few resurrected believers, although I think the reason mostly is to attrackt attention. Who knows?

    * Have the trailers shown a world that looks aesthetically pleasing to you? Why or why not?

I haven't seen anything breathtaking yet. I guess this also has something to do with what you're looking for. AC is known for being historical accurate and create atmosphere build on this. Norway is a very beautiful country with lots of sceneries to discover where Denmark is more a flat experience. Let's see how well you hit the wildlife and geologic landscapes.

    * What are your thoughts on the phrase "A Viking experience in the world of Assassin's Creed"?

None. I guess maybe the same way you connected it with the north american natives in AC3? All stories are free to be told and illustrated as you see fit. Let's see how Ubisoft manages it this time?

    * What concerns do you have for the setting?

Only one: Don't spoil the vikings as they really were. Don't make Hollywood figures of them, please.

    * What do you want to see more of from the setting?

Maybe some close up personalities that will give me the feeling of how life really was? Bringing the vikings back to life in a way?

    * Was this a setting you were hoping to see from the franchise?

Not especially. I bought Origins because I am interested in ancient Egypt. Odyssey because the were advertisements telling me I could expect a lot of RPG elements - which was not exactly fulfilled if I may add?

    * As always, please feel free to add any thoughts you might have that are not covered by these example questions!

I hope the RPG elements are much better than Odyssey. Regarding RPG Odyssey was pretty poor. As I said before RPG is about choices and not just fancy looks and gear.

I do hope you spend some time on creating some real romances this time. Romances are very important for me personally (look at CD Project Red and Bioware).

For me I think Valhalla has more on stake than any previous games since I live in Denmark and also fancy RPG.

    Just...don't screw this up, ok?...

Yes indeed. But this has never happened in the first game where the Templars were not really Christians and the Assassins were not muslims like they should be.
Pardon me for going off topic, but how were the Templar portrayed as not-really-Christians in the first Assassin's Creed? If that's the case, I may actually play it.

-Are you excited for this setting? If so, what has you most excited?
kind off, but still i think somethink moe obscure and with less use would me bether for the athmosfere of the game

-In your opinion, does this setting fit well within the universe of AC?
i mean the setting in the universe its just another time period and i can see no discusion in that, bu that isnt what you mean isnt? but i will further that in another question

-Are you interested in seeing the religious cultures that dominated the cultures of the land represented in the game? (Norse Paganism and Christianity)
yeah, i love the misticism on assassins creed and the relation of myth and isu and i would love to see that relation that wee see with the cristal ball in 3 or the koh i noor to be deepened in a game with a non european setting

-Have the trailers shown a world that looks aesthetically pleasing to you? Why or why not?
the trailers yes, the gameplay no,

-What are your thoughts on the phrase "A Viking experience in the world of Assassin's Creed"?
this is the big question, the world of assassins creed, so many things happen there without assassins or templars, but it doesnt make them assassins creed games, odyssey should have been a side game, and there sould be more side games like that, you know set in the same world but with a variation o mechanics and themes,
bartolomeo, la volpe, and paola, tree assassins bartolomeo was a master on fighting, la volpe in stealing and parkor and paola in social stealth, and seduction, everyone is an assassin no one has a hidden blade, or has all the skills like ezio has, an assassin doesnt need to be a stealth master or ha fearless warrior, you can fight like a viking and heve little to no stealth abilitys, but you are an assassin, if you dont want to be an assassins, just call the game a side game. and for god sake improve the combat and parkour, the parkour is shallow and slow and the combat is unrealistic, just get a master in historical european marcial arts and motion capture him

-What concerns do you have for the setting?
no stealth, no parkour, not mutch variation in fauna/flora, borring npcs, shallow hunting and fishing

-What do you want to see more of from the setting?
france, scotland and the faroe islands, tree parkour big f###### citys

-Was this a setting you were hoping to see from the franchise?
nop it just sound like vikings hype
