i wish they made the DZ just another PVE playable area because it indeed feels diferent from the main map and its fun to clear those landmarks , but no one likes to get bullied and going in there as a solo player is asking for it.
as it stands its just a waste of map for the bigger part of the comunnity where no one haves fun and everyone that goes in it goes mainly "obligated" because they want/need some content locked behind it.
having the option to enter it as a PVE player and not PVP would be sweet , like that all the bullies could still kill each other as soon as they step on it like they usualy do and have their sadistic fun while us , PVE players, could enjoy some more game.
keeping on making content for this game that is PVP only feels for me as a waste of time and resources , i already feel it about the upcoming NY dark zone.
funny that in tom clancy games you can never be the terrorist , but you can a be a straight up bully with no regards for the fellow agent well beeing and shoot him the back after he helped you ,the man is surely turning on his grave.
Well, there's gears and weapons locked behind pve content. How's that cool for me and other that don't want to do it? 50/50Originally Posted by N3mB0t Go to original post
Good post. I too am a purely PvE player but recognise that PvP has an important place in the game.
Throughout the life of Div1 (Div1 is still going strong but I'm talking pre-Div2 days) there was a call for a PvE DZ. I supported those calls, but the Div1 PvP "economy" relied on PvE "sheep" having to go into the DZ to obtain rewards not available in the LZ. And being slaughtered by the wolves. Of course most PvE players didn't go in, or go in a second time, and if we look at the overall figures - sit down, this may surprise you - only 4% of the entire Div1 player base actually went into the DZ and extracted an item. This puts into perspective the popularity of the DZ among the player base.
So the calls for a PvE DZ (ie choosing PvE or PvP when entering) seem entirely reasonable. But if you look at all the Div1 (and Div2) YT vids most are of PvP play, and this gives the game exposure. Hence the DZ.
Strangely, once all the rewards previously only obtainable in the Div1 DZ were released to the open world via boss drops and daily/weekly missions the DZ actually became more popular. Even I, a purely PvE player, went in there to do the boss round, get the drops and extract them. And this is where I can present some anecdotal evidence. I was in the top 3% of DZ players according to the charts, even though I never initiated combat but only chose to defend myself. So if a non-PvP player can make the top 3% the DZ was certainly not a popular place.
Massive missed a trick there, and it cost them dearly in lost players and revenue. When I read that Div2 was to feature 3 DZ's and one was to be "invaded" I assumed that on a weekly rotation one DZ would become an "invaded" LZ with super-hard enemies, leaving the other two for PvP. Finally, lessons have been learnt from the failings on Div1 and everyone, both PvE and PvP would be happy! But it was not to be, and we got 3 smaller DZs.
Massive doubled down on the failures of Div1 in that regard, and I can now buy Div2 for 3 dollars. I expect that Div3 (if there is one) will also fail in this same regard as Massive pursue their failed "vision". I'll wait till it's 3 dollars before buying it.
edit: Tokyo, as regards your comment above I believe it's a mistake to lock content behind any activities in order to try to "force" players to do things they don't want to do. They are players, not paid workers, and if they don't want to do it they won't do it. They will do something else instead or leave. In the case of Div1 they left. About 97% of them quickly left. Were the lessons of Div1 learnt for Div2? Not that one.
Cmon now tokyo...Dont try to tell us that you geared up in DZ from scratch.Originally Posted by TOKYO_ROGUE Go to original post
Ofc you did as the rest you gear up in PvE duengons and when you have highest possible to go in to DZ to gank PvE noobs right ?
Its not that you go in there to loose ...You just want to steel other peoples loot.
Who gear up from the dz? ... but did i wait to be lvl30 to get in the dz and gang people? nope...Originally Posted by Nennee Go to original post
My play time in dz div2 is only 4 days anyway. It's not calling me, i hate it. So i am still playing the first one like "almost" eveyone who wants to pvp in the dz. There's no more "let's bully some pve dudes..." since 2 years and half. Let's be honest about it. May i remind you... it's 4vs the rest... could be 4vs4 or 4vs10 (which i like)
Well yes, Tokyo, if we are going to be 100% semantically correct then the Raid, which you are referring to, is PvE content. BUT, I think you will find that the vast majority of PvE players don't Raid. So they are excluded from this content as well. Imagine that ! Content that both PvE and PvP players are excluded from. A winning formula !Originally Posted by TOKYO_ROGUE Go to original post

go play rainbow six , that´s what i do when i want o enlarge my E- **** with a tasty 1 vs 5 that is actualy played on an even ground PVP.
Not really. If anything, the light zone is way better. Control points are more grandiose landmarks with more loot. They might be spread further apart, but the concept is still the same. You can even compare any other open world LZ activity to landmarks, especially territory control.Originally Posted by N3mB0t Go to original post

Well, I know where this thread is headed. Play nice, people.
🏃💨
I dunno. Everything that can be said has been said, multiple times. And judging by the forums at the moment, they seem to be very mild compared to the fire and brimstone of the Div1 days. I hate to think it, but I'm not sure that anyone cares that much any more. Looking at the posts in the PTS forum, it seems almost like a desert wasteland compared to the fertile rush of imaginative comments in previous PTS. I hope that Massive or whoever are currently at the helm of this wayward ship can steer a good course, and that the Skyscraper is a big hit.Originally Posted by Merphee Go to original post
the damage scaling and environement is diferent , and that is good for variety , more room to play.Originally Posted by Merphee Go to original post
as to where the thread "might be going"... why do the PVP boys would get upset if i had an option to not get bullied by their group of 4 heros waiting for me at the gates with their OP gear to murder me?
maybe because bullying is a sane and very fulfilling activity for them instead of going into an actual PVP game and have their *** handed to them in a silver plate when everyone is on an even ground.
keeping and insisting in PVP is what kills this game for the most part as far as im concerned.
