Is It Just Me, or Is the Warden Weak?

So I recently got back into playing For Honor after a three-year hiatus (I play on XBox One). From day one I wanted to be able to main the Warden because I love knights and I LOVE longswords. Awesomely cool weapons notwithstanding, I am becoming progressively more convinced that the Warden is, in fact, one of the weakest heroes in the game.

So here is some background information. In terms of playtime, the Warden is definitely number one for me, with easily double the amount of time of any other hero I play. The Berserker would be number two on the list with the Raider as a close third. I would say the Lawbringer, Shugoki, and Warlord fill the fourth, fifth, and sixth slots respectively. Of all the heroes that I play, it seems to me that the Warden has no advantages in any category. Now, I realize the Vanguard heroes are supposed to be more generic and baseline in nature, but as far as I can tell the Warden loses to the Raider in terms of damage, and he loses to the Kensei in the speed and range departments. Moreover, he seems to run out of stamina very quickly and his heavy attacks are super slow even when he isn't out of stamina.

Now, before the 'Get Gud' replies start flying I want to reiterate that I have far more practice with the Warden than any other hero. Even so, I notice only marginal improvement and even more telling is the fact that I seem to have the same or more success with other heroes at less than half the practice time. I may not be the best Warden out there, but I probably have a similar win percentage with the Berserker despite playing him only about once to every five times I play the Warden. Once again, I understand that, as a Vanguard, the Warden is not supposed to super strong in any area, but it seems to me that he has pretty much nothing besides his looks to recommend him. He loses stamina too quickly for someone not wielding a heavy weapon, he lacks the solid defense of shield heroes while failing to bring any devastating attacks to bear, and he generally loses out to his opponents in either the speed or range departments. No matter who I'm fighting, when I play the Warden, I feel like my margin for error is so slight as to be essentially non-existent.

Maybe I just suck (though if that's the case, please explain why I can achieve the same level of success in less time with other heroes), in which case I welcome suggestions about how to become a formidable Warden main.

Well warden should've been like warmonger since day 1 and I like warden too but if you want to play as warden you just have to feint grab and hit alot and if your on console that's not possible because of the 30 fps lock so you won't be able to parry light attacks like on pc

    You're Misusing Warden

Warden is one of if not the best duelist character in the entire game. Not because of his sword, but because of his shoulder bash mixup, both defensively and offensively. If you're having a hard time winning with Warden somehow, then you need to use his shoulder bash more often. If your opponent starts dodging one timing, start using another. It takes a prediction to beat, and it hits very hard at full charge, making it easily one of the best offensive tools in the game.
And if you're the defensive, turtling type, then just use the backdodge version of it. Beats tons of mixups and is almost completely safe. Warden is not a weak character if you use his shoulder bash. It's sad that he's a terrible swordsman and an amazing shoulderman, but that's just the way he is.
