I have also abandoned Breakpoint. I might try again with the patch this summer, the one with AI teammates. But I don't expect any improvement here, really.
I have been playing the Fallen Ghosts DLC for Wildlands. I have the feeling that this is how Breakpoint should have been in terms of gameplay and user interface.
It might look stupid, but one of the things that I dislike the most in Breakpoint is how the character is controlled with the PS4. In Breakpoint, when you pull left, the character turns and advances to the left. In Wildlands, it displaces laterally, which is much more precise. That is just one example of a very badly designed UI. And this "adaptive cover system"... a joke.

I said it before but I really don't think they can change the game enough to make me want to buy it. A big part of that is the fact that some of the mechanics I'd like to see changed are such a part of the core game that you simply can't pluck them out without leaving the game world essentially empty. ....they are a part of the fabric of the game. If you start pulling out threads there's nothing left.

.....so unless Ubi plans on building GRB from the ground up, I'm just not seeing anything worth my time. My only hope at this point is that they take these lessons they learned from Breakpoint and apply them to the next GR title.

I hope yoou;'ll still planning on sticking arounf though Chris. We could use your input to help keep the pressure on Ubi to make changes for the future of the franchise.

Yeah I’ll be around. This community continues to be the only saving grace and the best part of this game.

in the hopes to save you.

As someone that have seen them kill one Tom clancy after another. UBI never takes what they learn (good or bad) and apply them to the next Anything.

You know I wish I could say different... but. I do like certain aspects of BP over Wildlands. Unfortunately that does not offset the sheer emptiness of the game. Wildlands by comparison is simply so alive. Forget gameplay and campaign details and even AI team mates, just being in the world itself is so alive. On top of that I can actually play with some real tactical concepts in mind. Bonefrog on another thread a while back was talking about tactical movement and staying some 300 meters from any road. In Wildlands that makes a difference. I have a team in Caimanes and they move on foot through the forest. I can see road traffic and Cartel activity but I don't run into two guys in the middle of the woods standing around for no good reason every hundred meters or worse a guy with a minigun just standing around by himself. It is little things like that which really start wearing you down on how unfinished and poorly realized Auroa is. Then you start hitting the bugs, bad cosmetics, BS mechanics to try and make you feel hunted and a campaign story that is as rushed as the rest of the game.

I can't advise anyone I know to buy this game at any price and expect them to be my friend afterwards. Will they eventually turn it around? I doubt it. I am not sure how I would even suggest they go about it as it fails on so many levels but how based on their backstory do you even bring this world to life? That for me is the starting point.

    • eliminate 90% of the random encounters in the wild and instead have seriously sized patrols with actual routes
    • Road patrols have to stop and investigate dead soldiers - WTF is the point of patrolling if you ignore obvious enemy activity?
    • Allow me an option to shut off or limit the drone volume
    • increase activity of civilians and sentinel in Liberty to reflect a population under lockdown and developing resistance
    • Make the Wolves into a more effective and threatening QRF force. Give me a reason to actually fear them.
    • Have a QRF force come in by helo and dismount to come looking for you. This spawning mechanic feels like the away team from Star Trek just beamed in.

Those are just a few ideas to try and make me feel I am actually in a living environment. Until you see that Kean Auroa will always feel like an empty unfinished game regardless of what else they do with it.

    Take Wild Lands,
Than Take Breakpoint Survale mode, injury at max setting, and boom...a much better game. IMO :those are the only thing i can think off that i would take from breakpoint.

I totally agree. I think the studio just doesn't care. Their reaction to people complaining they don't feel hunted was to amp up the stupid immersion killing and cheap flyover frequency and density of ground encounters to sheer ridiculous levels. It literally is the laziest and poorest thing they could have done, and yet that's what they did. This team is almost doing things to spite us at this point. I can't wait to see what obnoxious compromises come with the AI team.

Do what you need to Chris,

Breakpoint really isn't worth the dispair that it causes with frustration and annoyance. It will be a loss to the community not having your input but everyone needs a break from time to time. I know for sure I did.
