A First - in doing the Marcus Jensen mission in Libertad City

Just something that happened the other day which I have never encountered previously -

heading down the small road that takes you to the market and the automatic AI team narration - right there in the road.

We're suspected and having stopped the vehicle went prone as not to be actually spotted. Note only one cartel - that was strange ...

Shortly afterwards, right in front of "my eyes" via the drone, the remaining two cartel dudes spawn. Thus it's the normal mix for this spawning encounter.

I've never previously seen NPCs pop in like that during game play (been lucky I guess), and for sure never had bad guys in this part of the city heading towards Jensen. Made for an interesting bit of re-routing as not to "alert" Jensen with any activity near him.

Interesting. I’ve never seen a Sicario use the same idle pose as Holt with the gun across the back of his shoulders like that either. I had to do a double take.

I've been seeing the pop in behavior and a lot of other drastic performance decreases since they released that update a few months back.

Seen it a few times, mainly if I'm spending a good amount of time observing route or activity patterns (for whatever reason).

Funny you mention that- I had something similar just happen now with a machine gunner who spawned in about 20 feet from me... but it was the first I’ve actually seen that happen.

I've yet to have any "popping in" take place right in front of my character while free-roaming as in a "oh wow, what the heck was that" moment - it's normally been via observing from a bit of distance, via the drone. Have had direct re-spawning of an NPC during missions, which I assume we're all aware of at this stage.

Is anyone playing in off-line mode?

    I don’t know... how do I check? What’s the difference/benefit?

You go off-line by switching to off-line in Uplay by clicking on the options "bar" - the four bars icon all the way to the left on the main menu screen. Fifth option down.

I'm wondering if some of the issues have to with the connection, versus being completely separate from any data which might be transmitted during game play. There might not be any actual benefit.

I have had over the past several days a dis-connect in my on-line connection however. The game keeps playing of course (how sweet ...), but the over-all system is having some type of issue(s).

I had the "popping in" this morning playing through with a new character and I was en-route to a Santa Blanca lieutenant - and I spotted some villagers blocking the road with their hands up. Rather than run them over, I stopped and got out the car - then was immediately gunned down by the 6 Unidad guys who suddenly de-cloacked about 2 feet away from me...

Six NPCs spawning in at the same time sounds like you suffered a double whammy of the game burping!
