    Grinding WONY Story...

I cant even bring myself to do it. Bought up the expansion cuz why not, used the 20% off ubi discount code thing and just UGH. Ive completed the Hugh Tunnel mission and just, idk, find it boring. I find it annoying how im again going to have to throw out everything ive got, basically start all over again and try to build something else now.

THen this lvl 31 stuff im getting isnt even better than my lvl 30 stuff, though the lvl 30 stuff doesnt exactly feel that effective. Then again, the gear change ****** up all my rolls and stats, so my gear is pretty much random crap now.

Then just like how before, it was all Providence drops, that has been replced with Hana-U stuff. Ive got about 30 items, 20 of which are armor and 15 of those have been Hana U.....here we go again.....

    I kept my lvl 30 500+ gear until I was level 39

Use that time to gather talents for the level 40 recalibration table

I also kept my gear until lvl 37 or 38. I remember going through the whole story quickly and had no desire to go back and replay the missions. In fact I stayed away for about a month until I learned there was a new “deck of cards” (Bosses) to collect. I wanted to get them all and the new exotics (just to have) so I starting grinding them. After a while it grew on me. Still not my favorite area but it helps, helps, to mix up the monotony of grinding in DC. (Plus it’s nice to have Cleaners to explode again.) I wish it would have captured some of the “feel” of NY from Div 1.

****, the cleaners are harder to explode now, and it doesnt seem to be quite as deadly. I exploded the 2 waist tanks on the boss in Hugh Tunnel, he didnt care......

can you actually get to 40 without using any of the 31-40 gear to complete the storyline? Cuz im only now 32 and my stuff feels meh.....then again, my build is completely torn apart from the gear change, I havent touched this game in awhile.

i think i find it scales up a bit in difficulty around lvl 36...
but yeah most gears are just stop gap type of gears until you reach 40.. so 31 to 38 are just junk.. you always take highest lvl gear over stats.. you don't really push stats-- min/max until you reach at minimum 39.. but ofc 40..

some lvl 39 gears can be useful until you find the lvl 40 versions.. just my opinion.
I have 4 agents lvl 40 now.. i lvl'd all of them myself.

use the clan vendors if you are in a clan.. you can get some decent named gears/weapons to roll through content..and they scale up .. so if you get say a "new reliable" LMG..from a vendor for example at lvl 34.. then you level up to 35.. you can buy it again from vendor at lvl 35... to me it's worth the "gold".. errrr credits...

For me the wony campaign was the best part, it all went downhill after coming back to DC

The WONY campaign was interesting. The increase in difficulty with each level also brought intense fights in doing it. Everything went downhill with TU8.5. I think it was the most fun I had in TU8.

Honestly, it boils down to this game's endless grind. At what point can we just work on a build? 156 hours total time in this game, and I was just getting a build somewhat together and they go and release WONY, now I gotta basically start over again, and work on another build, trying to find out what I wanna use, now that everything has changed.

Same reason I got turned off Path of Exile. Id come up with a build, then they would go and change the giant skill tree and fk it all up. They expected me to look through that thing and figure out what changed, what I had, what paths to take......this game is basically doing the same thing, just in a different way. What makes it even more annoying, is knowing that if they add something new, its going to be the same thing. Any other content is probably going to result in the same damn ruining of builds. Its like, I like to be DONE with a grind at some point and just revel in my hard work, putting all my hours of work to use playing the game. If I get bored enough, I make another character and/or try another build. I dont like having to recreate my one build over and over....

Then with the way this game's building works, needing to RNG pieces that drop just the way you want them, makes it all the more frustrating. There are at least way fewer variables that need to RNG correctly, but still. On top of that, im not even sure what build to go with. THe build I want to make is likely not going to work, since the only option for a 'tank' is shield ****ter, and frankly that doesnt interest me at all.
