    Ubi: Loot generosity is not the answer or fix

    NOTE: This is not from the PTS but that should not matter as no changes to loot have been changed on the PTS so this is still vaild.

    It is near as impossible to try and get a decent rolled:

    • Full red weapon based build
    • Full yellow skill based build
    • Full blue tank based build

    There is way to many things to contend with.....

    1: The right piece
    2: The right attributes
    3: The right talent
    4: Decent rolls

    There are way to many ways for it to go wrong and it's crippling the loot system.

    I totally understand that some out there would like to play a hyrbid build but i'm pretty sure atleast 90% of the playerbase does not.

    Right now it feels as though 90% of the loot is rainbow loot and 10% is full red, full yellow, full blue.

    And if by chance you do get a full red, full yellow, full blue piece you have 1,2,3,4 above to contend with.

    So loot generosity is not the answer, you are just giving more of what we are getting, rainbow loot, sure generosity of loot is nice but it's not the answer or fix to the loot system.

    And then there is also the vast amount of mods that drop, it's way over the top.....we have targeted loot areas for that.

    This is pretty much what the loot system is looking like minus the mods:

    This is what makes it feel pointless to farm gear. I've been farming for a Murakami chest for over a month. All I want is skill haste and repair on it with any talent and it never drops. I would settle with Empathic Resolve and haste or repair and it never drops. 30+ days to get an item is insane. Something needs to be done.

    Funny you should say that, i too have been farming for a Murakami chest piece and i still haven't found any with atleast one yellow attribute yet the set is based on skill

    RNG.....i think not.

    Hey, yesterday I found 1 full yellow Murakami chest on the PTS! slightly above 50% SH and slightly under 50% SD!

    MMR talent, obviously... so I changed the talent and wore it even if it were worse than what I already had just to run a few tests with an armour backpack that had me lose 15% SD but was almost godrolled armor (I had to change the talent, again) and I must say, the extra armor really does nothing! If I accidentally ran into an NPC I would die in less than half a second...

    On reading the comments on how hard it is to find a Murakami chest with a yellow attribute I just ran 1 Heroic CP with Murakami as targettted loot (PS4, live game NOT PTS).
    Results -
    2 pairs of gloves
    11.3% skill haste
    explosive resistance

    7% skill damage
    15.8% skill repair

    1 backpack
    explo resistance
    crit damage
    Blood sucker

    1 kneepad
    crit chance
    crit damage

    1 holster
    explosive resistance
    weapon handling

    1mask
    armour regen
    11.8% skill haste

    1 chest
    armour regen
    14.9% repair skills (max is 20%)
    Spotter

    Along with a few mods and weapons.
    So, I dont think that is a bad spread, as both pairs of gloves, the mask and chest piece would be good to go with a bit of recalibration (especially if you wanted the chest as part of a turret/drone combo to take advantage of 3 piece Murakami setup for the extra10% skill damage)
    Ok the chest is not god rolled, but it does have the requested yellow stat and it was only 1 CP and 10 mins "farming"

    Im not saying loot is perfect by any means, just that everyones results will differ.

    That also seems a bit wierd when it comes to RNG, i group up with my son and over the last 2-3 weeks his had over 30+ exotics, i have had zero.

    Sometimes i wonder if loot tables are fixed per player.....depending on what they have already on them and in their stash and how long they have played the game.

    I have an almost full red build -

    Maxed Unbreakable Fenris chest with CD/CC (play 99% solo so prefer that over perfect/glass cannon, although I have a couple of Providence Def which are almost maxed)
    Maxed Grupo holster with CD/CC
    Maxed Foxes Prayer (rolled on CD)
    Maxed Vigilance Providence Def backpack with CD/CC
    Providence Def mask with max core, max CD but missing1.3% CC
    Providence Def gloves with max core, max CC and missing 1.2% CD
    Custom P416 G3 max dmg, max DtA missing 4% health dmg, rolled talent so I can swap it whenever
    Bakers Doz max dmg, max CD 9% headshot dmg

    I also have a full yellow build which is only missing 1.6% skill dmg and 3.3% skill haste across all pieces, using Tag Team on chest and Calculated backpack (could swap for perfect tech support but prefer what Im using), so skills come back quick.

    And another 5 yellow/1 red build just for turret/drone, which has max skill dmg on all pieces, Spotter and Perfect combined arms. Turret and drone hit hard with all buffs including spike and AR doing 74.6k isnt tooo bad either. Use this more than most, clearing Heroic CPS and open world stuff easily, strong skills but still have to shoot for buffs.

    Havent made a blue build as they dont really suit my solo play, but Ive stashed some pretty good pieces away incase that ever changes, which would give me a nearly maxed build.
    Same with all the Gear Sets, not maxed but pretty close.

    And before anyone says, it wasnt all got straight after WoNY dropped, as I only put the turret/drone one together 2/3 weeks ago and the maxed Unbreakable Fenris chest dropped for me about a week ago.

    Personally though, I WOULD prefer more loot to drop, make it rain, more rolls of the RNG dice can never be a bad thing, can it?

    You are taking the word "Decent" out of context or not understanding what i mean.....

    What i am trying to say is getting a lets say:

    Providence Backpack with:

    Weapon Damage: Not a problem
    1st Attribute: CHC
    2nd Attribute: CHD

    And i get:

    Weapon Damage: Not a problem
    1st Attribute: Hazard Protection
    2nd Attribute: Status Effect

    What can i do with it?

    This is the kinda loot i am getting 90% of the time, the other 10% is just a probability that it might even be decent but there is other things to contend with, i.e how high the rolls are, talents, etc etc.

    I have never talked about how high rolls are, that is not my point.

    TBH i have got to a point of just giving up....CBA

    Just for info i too have a really good red build, all this was obtained in TU8....it all went downhill when TU8.5 came out and all i get now is rainbow loot.
