Agent Base Armor - No Good post Warlords!!!!!

Pre-Warlords i.e. new gear inventory system, an Agent's armor providing they had "Armor Regen" and "Knee pads Patience" mods rolled on, could play the game for the most part in the open with armor providing a reasonable amount of protection during offensive combat. Post new inventory/gear system, agent's armor regardless of 1 -2K levels, gets shredded by Red and Purple NCP in open combat regardless. This issue has created a mostly play in cover game which is not only unfair, it is not fun at all. The developers are so focused on buffs and nerfs they have ignored that the agent's armor is useless... you run to get in cover and a purple NPC smokes you thus having to spend a ton of time fast traveling to safe houses vs. playing the game? WAKE UP!!! Make an Agent's armor at min of 1K the same strength as a Veteran or purple NPC... value of this? We can go cover to cover, not get blasted by RED and PURPLE NPC and the game at least provides some change for an Agent to survive running. WTF are you thinking making the enemy stronger than "The Division Agent" who cannot face tank a simple RED???? You got this part of the game very, very so very wrong with armor... buff the weapons sure but when you run for cover with the current TRASH level of armor protection we still will be waxed.... FIX BASE Armor dammit!!! Ask every player they will tell you armor is trash in the current condition.

I agree there is still something wrong with the way armor scales vs Npc's. I truly hate that they removed my Patience kneepads from the game.

But it does seem to be getting better, even on a skill build I rarely get completely shredded in a cover to cover move anymore.

Side note tho, the game was actually advertised as a Cover based shooter.

Yes, cover based, OK, but when you move from cover to cover, even if you are rolling over toward it, you are precisely sniped by any NPC from the map. Same when you peek out from cover, there always will be an NPC aiming at you, I repeat, AT YOU, not at your position, and in many cases he even shoot you behind that cover. If you move behind a container, for example, from one end to another, all NPCs from the map will precisely know which side you will pop up at. Not to say when NPCs come out a door they always know your position and, again, in many cases, they come out that door shooting you already. This is a very unfair behavior of the game, entirely.

Coming back to armor, even if you stack armor, let's say 2 million, that armor is completely useless because without armor regen and/or armor repair (from build itself or skills) doesn't matter at all in front of an NPCs hitting you with 2 million damage. And if you stack armor you lose damage, there is no balance between those. I've tried many hybrid builds, some works somewhat, some don't. For me is very clear that developers are overwhelmed by their own product and have no clue how to fix it..

If you say so... Over 1800 hrs play time, 3 lvl 40 chars, about 25 builds spread on these chars, 1200+ SHD lvl, most of the time playing solo, yes, I'm bad. But you are only trolling, in almost all of your posts here you're doing that. Nothing constructive, nothing useful, just trolling.

to be constructive. I don't find hybrids really worth it. Once you put together your best combo of stuff, swap out for crit chance and dmg and have your high weap dmg rolls (or however it worked out) that's really it. Besides not feeling like running glass cannon and going with whatever your main weap is for the chest instead, you're basically just hurting yourself. Sure, pvp and group stuff can be diff. A good skill build is very nice and actually fun most of the time in groups. But the only real "hybrids" that made any sense to me were: 1 swapping out chest and backpack for skill tiers, and making the talents the two that cooperate with skill dmg. i.e. shooting enemy adds skill dmg, skill dmg adds weap dmg. Even then it's barely a change. You're still low on armor. And the only time you get the same armor shredding capabilities is when you're tag teaming with your drone. Any build with armor and maybe some skill tiers with a shield end up having no dmg on heroic, at least in comparison, making it feel weak, even if it plays its roll. I do have one build with three strikers (not chest or backpack) and my other three slots filled with the same gear from my DPS build, and that's fun as well, but again, basically the same thing, it just hits with more bullets, instead of those bullets hitting slower but harder. It's pretty good on heroic but i usually use it on challenging because it just shreds so much faster. Even went as far as to use three true patriots in the other slots and on challengning you can melt a whole spawn with a Carbine 7 or MK17, but it doesnt have the dmg for heroic rlly.

To the point, it is a cover shotter, I agree with the other comment, but I also agree with the insane "skills" of the NPCs. Reds should be pushovers, two purples shouldn't be intimidating, and a quick rolls or sprint 5/10 yrds should only take 33% armor dmg at BEST. Like if the enemy is within 15 meters and already down sights.Otherwise barely 25%. You can do it PVP, it shouldn't be an issue PVE. I mean my AR hits for 200k dmg 450k crit (i think), so a red NPC shouldn't even be hitting for 100k a shot. With the 650k base armor and 280k health or whatever it is, no more than two or three shots should land within that distance out of cover. Elites match a good Agent build, fine, but even then, There's 200 of them per mission, usually 10 at a time, and 1-4 agents. No one would run an online game thats a straight up deathmatch 4 v 10 so the AI shouldn't try and imitate that.

I'm following my train of thought, obviously, but lately I have been thinking about this concept. It should be hard, but not stupid. PVP players pop up as soon as they see you pop up, and shoot immediately, NPCs stroll out of cover and wait a second to pull the trigger. So things could be worse, but with how the game plays out its pretty bad. You can sneak away sometimes, but as soon as you alert one they're all on you, hive mind, which is dumb. They should stagger if they hear shooting from somewhere they weren't expecting. Even then, who's to say they aren't hearing friendly fire. It doesn't boast about being a stealth game because good god it's not but they could def do with a little. At least realistic awareness and no more hive mind.

Yes, it was, but with all the rushers, all the Black Tusk skills, and the heavies walking towards you like a proper tank are made to get you out of cover, even grenades stagger you out of cover unlesss you Sawyer's kneepads. So it's a cover based game with everything in it designed to get you out of cover while giving you next to zero armor.

The real issue is from new gearing change from prior, good luck trying to get into cover once a ton of NPC swarm you????? WTF??? Fix the damn level of Agent's base armor to be as strong as a Veteran NPC and at least an Agent can get into cover????? Why is this issue so hard to comprehend for the game designers????????? The game is no fun if you are face tanked by a RED NPC and continually have to FAST TRAVEL to a safe house time and time again? This is a totally unreasonable change from prior gearing system. BS to that comment it is a cover based shooter... we could get into cover prior vs. now being wasted trying to run.

I almost never get swarmed anymore, but then i use a drone to keep the enemies attention elsewhere

I play mostly Challenging because I don't like the save point system in Heroic. but ive noticed no huge difficulty spike between the two really. Legendary is a different beast, those guys are Mean

Still the main thing I wish for is a way to improve existing gear pieces rather than having to pray I get a similar drop with better stats.
