I'm quite baffled with how much discrimination and racism people are getting away with, especially in this time. I've played a few games these last couple of days, and I've been receiving a lot of racist comments because I'm french. I've also seen people receiving their ammount of racist comments based on what nationality they are from, ranging from "go surrender your french ***" to people outright telling a greek guy to go kill himself. And that's not even touching on how much goes around when people play female characters or are girls themselves. While such a thing as "go make a sandwitch girl" can be seen as just a joke, it's really not. First of all it's hugely sexist, and that girl has probably heard that joke about 100 times that week. And I'm not even going to start on how many "jokes" I've seen on black and asian people. While a joke once in a while could be seen as harmless (when it really isn't), it always devolves into everyone jumping on the train and writing out their own racist or discriminatory joke, and you end up spending 10-20 minutes having to endure a match filled with people just throwing around racist jokes. And when you protest you get called a snowflake and things take a turn for the worst.
Ubisoft, this is your game, your rules, and you need to do something about it. It's very, very important, both for the health of the game, and for the face of your company. And by do something, I mean ban the people who act like that, not just write it in the DMCA et EULA but never apply it. Most of the guys I've seen make these jokes aren't new players, we're talking people above rep 100. It really isn't ok for this to be going on, and I know that I, for one, will not be picking up the game until something has been done about this. I'm not going to be standing there playing a game where I get insulted every other match because people find out I'm french, or watching them insult someone else for their nationality, race, gender or religion.
I never understood why english people call french people ''surrender'', it's not as if the english had never lost a war. Just ignorant people trying to make you angry because they feel more alive when they are nasty. For my part, I disable the chat in For Honor cause people are toxic and report is just a placebo, you should do the same thing.
Je te souhaite une excellente journée, une petite pause ça fait du bien.
So to you we should totally encourage racism and discrimination online? Even though these would get you fired from you job if you did it acted like that IRL, and in some countries they are illegal? The current social climate is a good example of how fed up people are with these behaviours, and how detrimental they can get. Maybe the people being racist, sexist, or any other kinds of discriminatory should reflect on themselves.Originally Posted by MuscleTech12018 Go to original post
Why can't people enjoy the game without being jerks? That is the real question.Originally Posted by MuscleTech12018 Go to original post
I don't think someone during their free time should be forced to tolerate some insecure 13 years old kids or lowlife losers attacking them. The toxic community moves people away just as much as balance does.
You are a great inspiration. I mean, if the noob who sucks against centurion can take it like a man, maybe everyone else can.Originally Posted by TheNoobwhosucksagainstCenturion
So, it is fine if I call you the "noob who sucks against centurion" from this point because you take it like a man, isn't it?
Frankly Ubisoft doesnt need to take any action. They've already given you the option to turn off chat, and mute voice chat. Keep in mind this is a fighting game. People want you emotional so you aren't thinking analytically. If you're upset it will be easier for you to make mistakes they're waiting to capitalize on. If you can't deal with that, option select it by turning off chat. Or play along so they think you're upset and about to make mistakes, then punish them when they are too predictable or overly eager.
