Thanks for the update. Windows May update hasn't rolled out yet for me yet but I am waiting for the official WDDM 2.7 Nvidia drivers.

Nevertheless DX12 can be temperamental. For some it crashes within minutes others it can be a few hours. Fingers crossed that you have long term stability with the new Windows update and pre-release drivers.

I have played a couple of hours today. So far, I havent had any lockups or crashes. game runs beautifully.

I will continue to post my findings here, perhaps it will help more people. However, there's no gaurantee from my end that it will help your specific cases too, obviously.

Btw, you can force the update to install using Microsoft's update tool ( https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/soft...load/windows10 )

I installed Windows May update and 451.22 WDDM 2.7. Whilst I don't crash I go get occasional freezes, where the game just becomes unresponsive and I have to exit the game using task manage to kill the process.

Nice, they really convinced you that the issue is with GPU drivers. Nice propaganda.
Btw, my old PC had an AMD card and still crashing on DX12 so it is not just Nvidia which I have now on a new PC.

what frame rates are people with high end rigs getting in the DZ?
I use to get a lot more before TU9.
    The experience currently is subpar.

Try running in Borderless (Windowed Full Screen) instead of Full Screen. Also disable ANY in game overlays from ANYONE except Ubisoft and nVidia (this includes Overwolfe etc).

My crashes on DX12 on two different PCs, one running a 970GTX and the other a 2070RTX have all but vanished by following the above guidelines.

The following have caused my crashes to re-appear on DX12 for me: OBS with nVidia overlay BOTH on (turn one of them off), OverWolfe and Discord in game overlay

Everyone loves to point the finger at just the game client, but if you run the client on DX12 Full Screen, DONT swap out of the game while running and do not use any overlays I cant get it to crash with same settings/drivers/OS install. If you have other programs running like Discord then Borderless full screen works better if you wish to switch between discord app and game.

*** NOTE *** : Once you change to Borderless full screen window mode, exit the game and relaunch it.

By doing the above I have helped 17 people to date quit crashing on DX12

This has been a ongoing and long-term issue , of which Ubi stated they were working with Nvidia on a fix. But from what i've gathered, this was months (if not longer) ago. And we haven't heard anything since.

Can we please get a confirmation that you guys are still working on this? or should we just stop trying things and use the inferior DX11 instead?

The game runs so much better on DX12 on Nvidia that it's really a shame this does not work properly.

Btw , for most people , the so called fixes (dpi settings, scaling, windowed/fullscreen, fps limits) do not work. DX12 + Nvidia in this game is broken. and if you are actually
using it and it's stable for you , that's fantastic. enjoy it. but for the majority , it's a complete disaster.

does the same on AMD , and still not fixed, my friend got BANNED from here for asking massive to fox this for NVIDIA and AMD DX12 DOESN'T work, it crashes to desktop (nvidia)

or just crashes in inventory screen (mostly) on AMD (RX 5700XT ) My AMD GPU System 3700X my 3800X system has GTX 1080ti 11Gb and they both crash and crash hard.. nvida crashes to desktop tho, my AMD card crashes with just a FROZEN IMAGE of the game as it froze with absolutely NO WAY to remove the image, except for hitting reset or windows key right click start and sign off windows and sign back on to get the pc back to play again! kinda BS if u ask me!!

My friends asked about this and he was banned of the forum because of 5 posts within 10 minutes which is ******ed if you ask me!!

banned on forums for feedback.. NICE JOB MASSIVE/Ubisoft, Good luck selling new games..lolol

iv done this tho, NO overlays PERIOD, AMD NVIDA Uplay / ubisoft. , I dont use OBS or STREAM, and dont use discord when i play solo 99% of the time anyeay so...

None of these guidelines HELP me??? so WHAT CAN AMD users DO ....... My 1080ti also crashes so is not my system, not my drivers, becasue i can run any other DX 11, DX 12, and or even VULKIN With absolutely NO ISSUSES PERIOD, EVEN WITH EVERY OVERLAY ON that i do have , ????? so its the game..

and sometimes, i wont crash right away, sometimes it takes 1 min, others it take 10-20 min, and some other times it may not happen at all or for over about an hour or two??? but its not My System, MB CPU ram (32GB 3600 CL16) dual channel.... no overclocks AT ALL?? no overlays period (even disabled Uplay's overlay!! windowed. Full screen. Bordeless Fullscreen modes, i HAVE TRIED THEM ALL, I AM A PC Builder/Enthusiest, I know what to do to find issues, ALL my other games RUN GREAT and RUN PHENOMENALLY!! its only this game i have crashes in??? WEIRD is, its solid for me on DX12.
Can you send your dxdiag.txt file, your 'Documents\My Games\Tom Clancy's The Division 2\graphic settings.cfg' and tell me what PSU you are using?
