Please, say us why you used the name Eivor also for the male character.

In these days Darby McDevitt and Ashraf Ismail have been explaining through some videos on twitter a few things that we will see in valhalla, like the flyting and why the hidden blade is on top of the wrist.
On twitter someone has also asked to Darby McDevitt why the name Eivor, which is used still today only for the women, has been choosed also for the male character.
He has answered that we'll know everything in due time.He hasn't said we have to wait the release of the game.
So I ask to him and Ashraf Ismail to explain us the reason of this choice in one of the next videos if they can do it without making spoilers about the story.
Surely who wants to play male Eivor will do it because he seems a fantastic character, but I think that the players have to know why we have to play a man with a female name.

They did it for the same reason they used the word Alexios in an era that the name did not exist yet..... They did it because they can! That's an American phrase of course....

Wait and see... they already stated (as mentioned by Vidar) that it will make sense.

My guess is that it is related to the "Both genders are canon" approach that they teased. Which is in contrast to AC Odyssey where only Kassandra is Canon.

They did it so that they didn't have to record two versions of dialog for every NPC that knows you.
