I understand whenever Ubisoft makes any "change" to the game (like: adding/changing options, weapons, skills), 2 things will be taken into consideration:
1. Will the "change" have positive effect considering all players? Any "change" to the game will Satisfy some players, and at the same time Upset others. So gotta be careful!
2. Will the effort to change it worthwhile? Because any "change" means more work/money/time to be spent by Ubisoft. A change X that cost $10,000 but will only satisfy 50 people is probably a NO.
So with the above 2 important things in mind, I would like to offer 2 reasonable "change" to the game that:
1) A lot of people will like. Nobody will be negatively affected.
2) To implement the changes will require little to no effort at all.
So Ubisoft, please change this:
1) In Gears Level OFF mode, Please add an option so that player can switch weapons (blueprints) anywhere (Like in "Gear Level On" Mode and in GR: Wildlands). Those who doesn't like it, can leave the option to OFF, so you guys won't be affected. Why? I will explain later.
2) Add An option to automatically spawn the vehicle that player requested at their last Bivoauc whenever player Fast Travel. Those who don't like this can leave the option to OFF, so you guys won't be affected.
A lot of people will Like 1), because:
Currently as we know, there are 2 game modes: Gear level on - turn on level for gears and you can change weapons on the fly, and Gear Level OFF - turn off gears level and you CANNOT change weapons on the fly, only at bivouacs, loot boxes, dead enemies.
The things is, in Breakpoints, there're so many guns. For new players and the majority players, (other than hardcore long-time veteran players who know all the guns already) we would like to explore/test/use many weapons in many different situations. In gear Level OFF mode, we cannot do that. We are forced to use Bivouac or switch weapons from dead enemy, which is very inconvenient and time consuming. In Gear Level On mode, we can change weapons on the fly, however:
A. We have to constantly loots new gears to keep up with enemies and/or proceed thru the games.
B. It puts a psychological impulsion on us to try to kill every one and everything we see, and loot every boxes, just to get better gears. Whenever we go to a base, beside from the main objectives that send us there in the first place, we want to kill every one and every things just to LOOT. It is fun at first, but get bored really quick. And soon we ask ourselves what is really the point of all this killing and girding? Personally, I have tried implementing a rule for myself: do not loot from dead enemies and don't try to open all loot boxes, just focus on the objectives. However, as the result, my Gears level does not keep up, and I have to spent a lot of Skell Credit in Shop to keep my gears relevant. It is also anti tactical. Imagine in GR:Wildlands or in Gear Level OFF mode, we can just quietly infiltrate a base, harm nobody or just knock out 1 or 2, then conduct the objectives( interrogate someone, or get some items), then quietly sneak out, move on to the next objectives. That feeling is so right, so professional, so rewarding and so satisfied !
As for suggestion 2), it's not really important, it's just an extra 30 seconds wasted every time. It's kinda break the flow of the game but it's bearable.
Thanks for reading.
I'm relatively new to Ghost Recon. I started playing GR Wildlands about 5 weeks ago, with about 30-40 hours, unlock almost all blueprints, I really enjoy the way of the game !
Wildlands is the reason that bring me to Breakpoint, because I thought Breakpoint was gonna be good ! I started playing Breakpoint about 2 weeks ago, with ~ 60 hours, I alternate between Gear level on/off mode. To be honest, I don't enjoy it as much as Wildlands. However I keep coming back to play it because of the Graphics, the game is so beautiful. I have the feeling that Ubisoft had blown most of their budget on Graphic development, while neglected on the Gameplay, however, with upcoming patches I hope everything will all be improved.
