Hey there, got the urge to play some Wildlands, downloaded from Steam and launches from uplay as normal, gets to the splashscreen and hangs there for about 2 seconds then uplay reports a crash, I've tried everything I can to fix this from all the suggestions but nothing works, I don't even want to play it anymore I just want to find out why it won't run.
I've checked Event Viewer and its not showing anything for GRW.exe, I opened a support ticket a few days ago, support rep told me to try installing the latest Nvidia drivers which I did, including older ones but insisted that I install them again before they could help me any further so that was a waste of time, I've downloaded 2 different pirate copies and even they don't work! Something is very seriously wrong here, its the only game on my system that refuses to launch.
Hey,
I had a look at your ticket and just wondered if you could add a new updated DxDiag as well as upload the MSINFO as a .txt file so I can open it to view.
You need to export it (not save as) to save it as a .txt file.
Okay, done that, in the mean time I've installed Windows on a new SSD and downloaded the game from Steam and still the same issue just to try it out and redownloaded the trial version from Uplay but no good.
Are you installing the game on the same drive as your OS? Would you be able to run through each of the steps located here? It's quite in-depth but is designed to cover the majority of crash issues.
Yep, same drive, updated Windows, reinstalled EasyCheat, administrator rights, reinstalled uplay, everything, I am completely confused as I've played it with this PC before in the past, just crashes straight after the splashscreen on every version I've tried.Originally Posted by Ubi-Spud Go to original post

Could you try running the game on Compatability mode?

Hey there, just tried all the .exe's with compat mode for every version and unfortunately still nothing, it truly is bizarre.Originally Posted by Ubi-Viral Go to original post
Thanks for the update Linblum_.
It appears that this will require further and more in-depth investigation, therefore when you have a moment, can you update the ticket by advising the steps you've completed already, and we will take be able to take it from there.
Okie dokie updated with relevant information, just reinstalled the newest Windows version on a backup SSD and still crashes. I reinstalled Breakpoint out of curiosity and played that just fine and can play AC Odessey completely fine too, just seems to be Wildlands.Originally Posted by Ubi-Karl Go to original post
It is certainly unusual but we will get to the bottom of it. Knowing that the same issue occurs with a clean installation is curious and a very important fact.Originally Posted by Linblum_ Go to original post
