Some of the aliases for Just Dance 2020 have specific tasks to complete, but completing the task doesn't seem to be as simple as it sounds.
For example, one of the aliases asks me to dance to five songs featuring a Panda as a coach. I've danced to Con Calma several times as the panda, but the game only credits me with 1 out of 5. Do I need to dance to five different songs that have pandas? if so, that isn't clear. Also, if that's the case, what about the vegetable alias? One alias asks me to dance to 3 songs as a vegetable. Are there even three different songs? (I see PoPiPo and Automaton Alternate, even though tomatoes which are found in the vegetable section of a grocery store better match the scientific definition of a fruit...) I don't think it should be different songs because it seems like with other aliases I was able to do the same song more than once and unlock it. So I don't see why Con Calma isn't giving me more credit. Anyway, this part is easy, there are some other panda dances to find.
My main concern has to do with the geeky and monster aliases. My first problem was trying to decide which coaches qualified as geeks or monsters. I'd find a dance that I thought would qualify, then not get credit for it. Then I decided to use the Search feature and type in geek or monster. This helped me find a few dances that did help me earn credit to unlock these aliases, but the search results are crazy. That's my main issue. When I typed in Monster, I found dances like Miss Understood and others where it didn't seem like the coach was a monster at all (but maybe if I did the dance I would find out otherwise), yet some dances I expected to show in the search results didn't show up. How is This Is Halloween, for example, not in the search results for monster? Similarly, I found some dances where the coach looked geeky or nerdy (I hope the game isn't picky with the distinction here), like the nerd version of Born This Way, which didn't show in the search results for geek, but not all of the results that did show had I been expecting.
Anyway, if the task asks you to complete something and you feel like you did it, you feel better if you actually get credit for it. :-)
Otherwise, these tasks were kind of fun, forcing me to dig through the Unlimited catalog and do some dances that I haven't tried for a while. I like the concept, especially when it works.
I figured it out today. I danced to Popipo and Automaton Alternate. When I checked the dancer card, as expected, it showed that I had danced to 2 out of 3 veggie dances. When I danced to Popipo a second time, it still showed 2 out of 3. It didn't give me credit for doing the same dance twice. So it does require 3 different veggie dances. I was stumped, so I typed VEG into the search field. Then I saw Sugar listed as a veggie dance. When I danced to Sugar, I saw that coach one turns into a carrot at one point, so it does make sense after all. With Sugar, I was finally able to unlock the veggie alias. By the way, you can dance to coach 2 and still get credit, even though coach 2 doesn't turn into a vegetable at any point.
This is a little trickier than expected. It wasn't easy to find 3 different vegetable songs... All's well that ends well?
