Why do my carriers stop picking up at mines

I am relatively new at this so I don't understand what is happening. This has happened in several maps I have tried playing. I have all my mines, weaponsmiths, and smelters working. There is plenty of food and things are rolling along well. Then my carriers stop picking up at the mines which stops all production. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I would like to finish a map but can't as long as this is going on.

Hey! I believe I may know what is happening here.

There was an issue in some Settlers games (I can't remember which ones specifically) where workers will stop working if you have 40 or more different buildings that need coal. Do you think this is what's happening?

We were unable to fix this issue due to it being a restriction with the game engine. The only workaround is to use less buildings that require coal.

I use a lot of buildings that require coal but I don't think it's as high as 40, unless you include the coal mines themselves.. I'll watch for that the next time I play. Thank you.

Thank you, I think that would be best.

You may notice the issue occur after placing a building. If so, try removing a coal building that is no longer required and see if that helps.

I apologise for the inconvenience, I know this is an awkward issue to face in-game.

Again thank you. I'll watch that and see how it goes.
