The game is too easy now (PTS Phase 1)

The game is far too easy now and has officially catered to the Casuals.

I predominately play 2 player co-op. My teammate/ brother plays a DPS red build, I play the 10 second seeker mine skill build. We have been playing The Division since the first game's beta. We play exclusively PVE. While it varies pretty wildly, we typically play about 6-8 hours a week. In TD2 live build, we typically play at Heroic difficulty with little hardship. They require our attention, communication, and coordination. We do occasionally wipe, but I expect that when an error is made. I enjoy when the game is hard and my adrenaline spikes or it requires my full attention as I attempt to overcome the challenges it provides.

    We tested 1 Heroic Mission.

First, let me say that my Agent does feel more powerful. I never had an issue with it before but if that's what you all are going for, great. My only critique regarding that is that getting hit appears to be less lethal and thus the enemies are less threatening.

Unfortunately in the PTS, the game is far too easy. The enemy AI is no longer aggressive and hardly any projectiles pushed us from cover. Generally, the game AI no longer applies what feels like a threatening pressure on us. We did not experience anything that would make us have to adapt our current combat plan nor did we have any difficulty running through the Heroic content - just sitting back and going through the motions will ensure victory. The game feels like it did before WoNY - which, with all due respect, I often found myself falling asleep during combat. Heroic would be the new farming difficulty and unfortunately, there's not a Legendary difficulty on all missions.

I would suggest reverting projectiles a bit and making them more accurate. I would suggest having enemy AI being more aggressive maybe with coordinated attacks. I would suggest decreasing players ability to recuperate HP since enemies don't hit as hard and I would suggest restoring that feel of a constant threatening pressure.

I fully agree. There are a certain number of people that want the game to be easier for EVERYBODY, and I support making the Hard and Challenging content perhaps a bit easier via these proposed TU10 changes, in order to accommodate the casual player. However, Massive definitely needs to INCREASE the difficulty on the Heroic and Legendary missions, as these proposed changes for TU10, will make such content far too easy. Heroic needs to be Heroic, and there definitely needs to be differentiation in the game for those of us that work on our builds meticulously, look for synergies with our friends / Clan, and who have advanced tactics and strategy.

Heroic and legendary should be hard, yes. But they also should feel rewarding in terms of drops. Not rainbow drops, not providence with two yellows etc. If not, then why should you even bother doing them at all? For fame and glory? Give me a break.

I agree with parts and i understand your opinion is based around your own experiences, but have you tried to solo the same content?

the 2 player scaling has one major advantage over solo.. aggro is shared

    100% agree!
Unfortunately I think Massive have given in to those who shouted loudest about nerfing difficulties/npc's. We are pretty much back were we were difficulty wise with TU7 or so.
That's when I stoped playing the game and then returned for WONY.
I think I might have to take another brake.

I wholeheartedly agree. The differentiation in terms of loot and drops should be materially higher on Heroic and Legendary, presuming of course that the content is truly difficult, and such that requires proper builds, tactics, strategy, etc.

I didn't read anything in the patch notes for the PTS about NPC changes. Is it much easier than the live game currently ? I played on the live game today and multiple times my armor was broken in 1 hit from NPCs. That isn't even with glass cannon. If you have maxed out gear Heroic content shouldn't be excruciating. That is called progression. If Heroic is too easy farm solo or 2 man Legendary missions. If you can run Legendaries in 30 minutes or less without dying I would be amazed and would love to see a video.

    I disagree.

When you always sit in cover, spamming skills then yes, it's easy.
But rushing a mob is quite hard, the damage you take is crazy.
You have to shoot a full AR magazine or more on an elite and then a red bar MP guy makes "brrt, brrrt" and you're dead in seconds.
If you play careful it might be easy, but then you need much more time.

Actually I do think that playing carefully should be mandatory while playing heroic difficulty. Standing out in the open or attacking guns blazing without using any cover should always be dangerous, even on lower difficulties.

Playing with people you can coordinate with and of whom you know the build is a completetly different beast.
Playing with a dedicated CC or Healer is another thing again.

This game is not an MMO, if roles are required to play then make it so: create roles and let us MM with those, otherwise it's always 4 DPS that don't know each other and don't talk to each other.
