RNG is horrific, 99% of what you pick up is useless, prof caches are a waste of time as it's all terribly rolled, Gear 2.0 has been an absolutely disaster. You can't optimise and 1 roll isn't enough. Something that was already "learnt" in td1 with 2 rolls and an optimsation table. You can play the game dependent on your luck, wanna do a raid or a legendary players? Well...good luck...better get those are reds and m1a in as thats all thats viable, hence the un nerf to stop all those players leaving.
The raid is a waste of time, once you have the bits you want from it you'd never go back in as it's a farce to get a game together. 8 players all with builds and headsets...yeah ok...i cant even get a 4 man team for missions or the dz on xbox so i think i'll skip the raid now thanks. Destiny 2 in the other hand has matchmaking for theres, you dont need 6 different sets to complete it, you get useful stuff every time.
Pvp...well its an absolute disaster...status effects constantly, no defence against them, chicken dancing is still a thing, TTK is 0.2 seconds, the chc/chd build, i forget the name, mark your enemy and then literally shoot the npcs and the guy dies...again, no defence...pestilence...no defence...fire specialisation medkit...total immunity for whatever it is, 10 seconds....manhunts have 3 spots to get it off, groups of 4...1 legs it leaving the other 3 to hold everyone off for a minute, legged it player gets a minute distance away, his 3 mates die, respawn on the other side of the map 30 seconds later and get it off...brilliant...
Solo play...not plausible...npcs rush and flank you constantly...bullet sponges and hit like a truck...isnt that why you took the 3-11-7 away?
Group play? Sorry devs...so many players have left the xbox you cant get a group any more. Havent found anyone for the dz for 2 weeks on matchmaking...its lockdown all ober the world...nobody is playing it...what does that tell you.

This exactly. Tu8.5 wrecked the game loot wise and was where everything started to go seriously downhill. So with the Exception of Brand RNG - the player has to wish to luck 50 - 80% of the Attributes of a Gear roll in their favor because they can only ReRoll 1.

I am sorry Developers - but it seems it isn't apparent to you, while Painfully obvious to the Rest of the World.
You can't "Optimize" RNG. You can Optimize Farming, but you can't some how "Improve your Luck" Unless you cheat.
1st slot and mod slot are fixed for any given brand. The problem is targeted items are only slightly weighted. There’s no guarantee you actually get the targeted brand except for mission bosses who may only drop one, and open world encounter rewards which will also be one.
But it’s worse than that because there’s also all the guns and mods in the pool, and everything seems to have an equal chance of dropping, except for a slight weighting of a target brand or general item. While not the ideal solution, if a targeted area ONLY dropped that brand or item , your chances of finding what you were looking for increase a lot. While that’s no guarantee of good rolls, at least you’re on target rather than coming back with 10 mods while farming Fenris, for example.

Core Stat it self is based on RNG. It an can be Armor \ Weapon Damage \ Skill Tier. Then Armor and Weapon Damage again has an RNG on Value.
Stat 2.
Double RNG - Can be multiple Colors. Multiple Stats Again RNG.
Stat 3-
Double RNG - Can Be Multiple Colors - Multiple Stats Again RNG.
Stat 4 -
Can Be Multiple Colors - Which limits your choice of what Mod you can add - Again RNG
Stat 5 - Talent.
Again can be numerous Talents, unless named item - Again RNG.

Well, if you talk about Providence itself, then this brand will always drop with red core attribute and red mod slot (but yes, the value of core attribute is RNG based). Only the minor attributes could be anything else, including the named one, The Sacrifice (besides of talent). After three days of farming in DZs I've seen a lot of The Sacrifice with blue or yellow minor attributes, or mix of them, although the core attribute were a good one, sometimes even god roll. In the end all of them were useless. Same for The Gift, named backpack from Providence. And all of that can be found on every brand set in the game.
This is the major problem of the loot quality: mixing all attributes and talents altogether the result will be so-called rainbow items. There should be separate loot pools, like offensive items only drop with offensive attributes and talents, defensive items only drop with defensive attributes and talents and so on for each category. Same for the weapons, it's completely useless to have talent Close and Personal on Rifles and MMRs, for example. Or Ranger on shotguns or SMGs.
And after that, let players to change two of these attributes if they want to build something different. Forcing players to do things exclusively in the developers way is completely wrong.
In my opinion this is just lazy programming, less work for more money, in a word: greed. Period.
