Targeted loot needs to change.
Lets say i wanted to target gear that is based on a Dps skill build like the following:
After targeting the above brands this is what we all pretty much end up with:
As you can see the brands are aimed for skill builds and we are targeting the brands but we are ending up with attributes that are aimed for weapon based brands.
The same goes for weapon based brands, lots of yellow attributes.
How is this targeting loot? yes i am getting the brand but 99% of the time but getting the wrong attributes.
There is way too many things to contend with....
- Getting decent rolls
- Getting the right attributes for that brand
- Getting the right talents for that brand
So the chances of getting lets say a Wyvern Wear chest piece this is what i have to contend with:
- Right Attributes: Skill Damage + Skill Haste
- Right Talent: Glass Cannon
- Decent Rolls
I can understand getting a decent roll should be pure RNG and based on the harder the content the better the roll can be.
So you could say when targeting a Wyvern Wear chest piece we are getting a Skill build/Armor Build/Weapon Build item.
How is that targted loot? it makes no sense.
Fix the targeted loot and then you can concentrate on many other things like content, new gear sets, new talents....it's endless.
I wouldn't be opposed to letting players target a "subset" of loot (for example, instead of "Wyvern" they can target "Wyvern + Reds" or "Wyvern + Blues" or "Wyvern + Yellows"), which seems to be what you're suggesting in the third-from-the-bottom line. However, I would be extremely opposed to just blanket changing loot drops to something like "All yellow-core gear drops with yellow secondary attributes), as being able to drop things like Badger Tuff or Richter & Kaiser with red secondaries can be very important to build variety/diversity.
People are complaining on the first day of the PTS because they for some reason expect to get fully rolled gear with the attributes they want in a few hours lol... The rolls have been improved noticeably for heroic content.Originally Posted by twistwist777 Go to original post
The only thing that's still honestly a little bit of an RNG issue is getting a backpack or chest with the correct talent and desired attribute rolls. Everything else is fine. It's just people who want the best gear right away, hence why they're saying loot is bad, only 1 day after the PTS has gone live rofl.
The problem is, before TU10 (in the current game), a backpack can came over 3000 combinations: brand (core same by brand) x attributes (1-2) x talent. So you have less than 1:3000 chance to get what you want. This number multiplied by chance of all 3 attributes are on maximum value. Better chance to win jackpot on lottery.
After 30.000 looted items and 700 hours of gameplay since TU8 released, (for a time i just open the crate but not take the loot,) I still not have a god-rolled 4 piece Negotiator's Dilemma. These gears have only core and one random attribute. What I want: max red core OR max chc or chd on a gear, with recalibration i can make it to god-roll. But still not got/found. Mostly playing on heroic level (sometimes challenging missions with friends, or random level by shepherding).
This is not complain, just dry facts. Something wrong with the whole RNG method.
For me you are totally wrong:Originally Posted by krismate- Go to original post

No. We have been saying this for months, not on the PTS.Originally Posted by krismate- Go to original post
The PTS just shows that nothing has changed, not the value of the rolls (dropped a 4.5% WD from a heroic boss), not the rainbow of colors.
The affixes should roll with a strong inclination for the color of the core attribute, with the CHANCE (25% at best) to roll something else.
The odd color should be the exception, not the rule.
Only then we can work towards perfecting our builds and get them to godrolls, otherwise it's an exercise in futility.
Bear in mind riflemania plays on console, so this thread is more of a complaint about the live game than it is about PTS.Originally Posted by krismate- Go to original post
Anyhow, the loot quality changes have not been implemented in Phase 1:

That might help with perfecting your builds, but very much not help with perfecting (rather, actively harming) many other builds.Originally Posted by desrocchi Go to original post
