Decided to log back after a break only to find out that you removed tickets from breach at first I was like cool no problem. Then I played a few games.Out of the games I have played no team has cleared the second gate or even gotten close, the defenders always win. It is now damn near impossible to win as an attacker because defenders just sit on objectives gank you when you try to take them, or watch as archers and the cauldron shred the ram. Please revert to tickets, at least then attackers had a chance.
Sincerely,
A day 1 player who loves the game and wants to see it succeed despite your best efforts
It's damage values that ruined it cauldron does more I think
the tickets were a better change however you do get tickets back
depends on the health of the ram tho. (less health= less tickets.)
Besides this change made it so flag is top priority as well as capping obj
Attackers have more to think about pretty much. Don't waste those
Infinite lives you have just stick to two groups you'll be fine.
Cool, so you played it like a couple times with the new changes, lost because you have to relearn, get on ubi forums and crap on breach because you don't know how to play it. First off, getting back into this game is always rough because you are out of practice so don't try to blame it on breach. At this current moment breach is indeed in a better place than it was before, there are some finer details that need to be looked at along with the commander phase that need more work. I don't see how adding tickets back in current breach would be anything but horrible. You clearly don't even know what's wrong with breach atm if you think that is it.Originally Posted by Armegedon1208 Go to original post
I'm not sure why but people seem to think attackers have all of this complicated work to do but they don't. This is how to play breach as an attacker:
1. Capture as many rampart positions as possible as quickly as possible. NEVER boost ram.
2. Keep an eye out for banner, the ram really needs this now because it doe not regen health. Banner spawns after 3 minutes of the beginning of each phase, and 4 minutes after each use.
3. If you want to loan wolf in breach then make sure you are avoiding the enemy team and doing objectives that they aren't doing. Realistically the best use of your time will be allocating your entire team to rampart until its captured
4. If ram is getting cleared by defenders then you should kill them, kill the pikeman, and leave immediately. Even if you already have rampart positions you will want to collect as many banners as possible before reaching cauldron to maximize lives in phase 3. Boosting ram should only be done when you are at the gate. If you boost ram to gate without rampart positions you are going to lose a ton of ram health to pikeman and cauldron will be much harder to defend.
So absolutely untrue, the damage of cauldron was reduced by 16%. The ram just receives 38% less shielding from banners so it can only protect from one cauldron, not one and a half. Without ram health regen I am sure a lot of people think the cauldron takes more damage because it lost 25% of its total health as well.Originally Posted by garr1999 Go to original post
On average the players will see 3 banners in a breach match, lets assume the ram gets all 3 of those and lets use the old rams regen to:
So with new ram it loses 25%+38%+38%+38% of its health,
The ram lost roughly 140% of its max health, 115% of that is potential health though not actual health, But, it does receive 16% less damage from cauldron.
It takes roughly 8 cauldrons to kill ram now. This means that over the entire match the cauldron is 128% worse at killing the ram when the ram only actually lost 25% of its health.
Take into consideration that the ram is now about 20% faster as well while the cauldron received no additional tweaks.
The ram was clearly buffed but why does it feel so hard to attack?
Without tickets the defenders don't have to worry about controlling the map or protecting bodies, they can just sit on rampart and wait for you to come to them. This is fine but i feel it was not predicted by ubi. They made the rampart quicker to capture but because defenders put 100% of their effort into it, they are able to keep the capture progress constantly stalled unless you make some serious effort to stall the defenders first.
How to stall:
1. Send one person to defender spawn to try to survive as long as possible without letting defenders run off to do obj
2. Expand outside of rampart area to allow yourself lots of time to catch those defenders trying to sonic roll past to you contest ramp.
3. Avoid ganking single defenders in the zone. Usually they can stall ramp a lot better if they are given revenge even once. You can get one group attack in and then back off and try to take them out in a 1v1 while the other 3 attackers preemptively move to block defender entry.
4. The banner is a huge stall. No matter the situation, grabbing 1-3 rampart points is way better than getting a banner. The main way I see the ram take lots of damage is from team fights on the banner when the attacking team does not have any rampart objs. The pikemen can shred the ram during the fight over banner making you lose more than you actually gained even if you do get the banner. During banner fights, one person should continue pushing ramp. So the defenders might get the banner, but now you have all rampart objectives so you will take way less damage from pikeman, and have an easier time preventing cauldron. It is a much better reward than the banner itself.
This message is very applicable to the OP as well.
The problem with the new Breach mode adjustments is it requires too much coordination and awareness of objectives between teammates, which is asking way too much of the average player in MM apparently.
If you're not in a 4 person pre-made group, the chances of getting incredibly angry during a Breach match in solo-queue are virtually guaranteed if you care about the outcome at all. It's not popular enough and as a result people obviously don't understand how they are screwing things up for their team, which is infuriating to witness over the course of this longer format mode.
