Developers,
I know you get pulled in every direction and I appreciate all that you are trying to do. I understand how complex balancing a game this size is and it's a lot of people with a lot of opinions that you have to try to satisfy.
I have a simple request, that I can guarantee is probably pretty universally desired. It's probably pretty easy to code and shouldn't change any part of the game but the size of the database.
Storage. In the Division 1, we had far fewer options for gear to consider so it was easy to quickly decide what to keep and what to get rid of. In The Division 2 you have given us a much greater ability to tweak builds and do some pretty amazing things. The problem is, because of the additional complexity without additional storage, we are now forced to take a pretty significant break from game play almost daily to do work on determining the best gear for each slot for each role we wish to play.
Can we please have more storage? Providing this for free as a quality of life addition would be super appreciated by everyone, but I would even accept this as a premium add-on with a price tag attached. Maintaining a larger database may cost more money. I would gladly pay for additional storage spots. This would not be a pay to win change either... because how much storage you have is entirely a convenience thing and does not contribute to your ability to win.
Please consider this request as it will build a lot of good will even in some of your greatest detractors because it will give them the ability to play more, and inventory manage less.
Thank you,
Phire42 aka Eric.
As much as i would love an increase in available storage, it probably rates as second on my personal list of Quality of life improvements.
For me personally, and it might well be high on the list for a lot of people, the biggest quality of life improvement that could be made, is a complete overhaul of the chat and social side of the UI and game.
I might be wrong, but currently, there is no quick and easy way to add people as friends in game, meaning you have to mess around with writing names down, going to Uplay, or your console system, and add them. Whats wrong with a simple option in-game to add people to your friends list, from the social menu.
Also, why is there no simple and easy way to send direct/private messages to friends, not all my friends are in my clan, but i have as yet found no way in-game to be able to send them a message.
There are games out there that have been around for 15-20+ years that have these built in, why can't we have similar functionality in a game that claims to be a Multi Player game.
the storage is so limited so people who are smart in storing gear will benefit more than those who just store everything they get. It's not a matter of space, it's a matter of making you think about what you are keeping. The only problem is what you keep today may well get re-balanced, nerfed, re-purposed before you come to actually using it and you will end up with a stash full of useless crap. That is the real problem with storage in the game.
Rather than increase storage, why not give us an offline inventory management option like with Destiny 2 -- you could then sit on the couch in front of something you're not paying attention to on Netflix and deal with the cruft without wrestling with the "looks cool, works horribly" in-game UI. For example I keep "things for future builds" in my stash, so whenever I pick up a new thing that might be better than the one I have saved I have to go to the stash, find the stored item I want, transfer it to my inventory, close the stash, open my inventory, equip one of the items, find the other and compare the two, mark the worse one as trash, re-equip my original gear, close my inventory, re-open the stash, and transfer the item back out. There has to be an easier way!
Yes, I would love to see more storage...
My storage is currently like 298 and every time I get something new and nice looking (which I'd like to keep for in case I find a use for it or give it to a friend), I end up having to search through the entire portfolio for something I can get rid of...
Also, another slice of life improvement that they haven't really had any success in is... "Better MOD sorting".
Sorting the Mods are a pain right now.
There are mods with different names that have the same kind of attributes and whatnot.
Searching for the one specific better mod in the gazillion mods I have can be quite frustrating...
That's why I've basically stopped gathering Mods (unless I definitely know that I have gotten a better drop) and once I place a mod on, I hardly ever remove it or change it because I don't want to go through the hassle of rummaging through my Mods again.
You can increase stash to 400 and it will still never be enough as people just like to hoard hoping that there would be a use for the decent items they found.
Since HC mode is pretty much dead, I just deleted that character since I got the raid commendation tied to it and created a new character to use as a stash mule. With 3 more characters I can manage what builds I have but it's a PITA doing all the specializations and leveling them to 40.
