    Should Aguilar be legendary?

That's a question I'd like to discuss with you, for I got the impulse from a recent argumentation about Aguilar's sword Rebellion's Edge. These are the different points, to which I got:

    1. pro
As the indisputable mentor of the Spanish Brotherhood and main character in this game, Aguilar is on one rank with Ezio, Ishak and Altaïr, who are all legendary. So is Aguilar's lover María and anyway all charakters, who have personal weapons available.

    2. contra
With Hamid and Tariq, both normal and appearing first in this game, Aguilar is one of your first 3 characters. A legendary hero could easily prove as overpowered in the initial missions. Plus, they need more DNA and grow slowlier. It would maybe have spoiled your anticipacion of unlocking your first legendary one.

    3. turn him to legendary, when reaching region 5 or something similar
It is hard to imagine changing a hero's rarity during a current game. As ranks on legendary require more DNA and Aguilar's DNA score would have to be taken over 1:1, it would propably get him disranked, which means the promotion ceremonies taken on him would have to be returned. This seems unimaginable to me.
    What do you think?

I agree, Aguilar should be legendary. But you wouldn't have to change much as he gets way more shards than he needs through leveling up in the game quests. Just boost his stats a bit and done.

    Legendary Aguilar

You can upgrade the skills of Aguilar for a long time, but he will hardly reach the power of the legendary character.

Aguilar as the protagonist of the film and the game should be legendary

Yep, he should be Legendary as a main protagonist as you mentioned. Also, as I've always asked, "Why is Maria Legendary and not Aguilar?"
Then they'd have to make someone else the main starting assassin.

After Altair came to ACR I really gave up on that fight. Er, rather started picking my battles more wisely.

I still do support it though. Especially since they replaced his DNA with Ezio's in R5. The rares simply can't participate in high level missions or events, and that reason alone justifies a promotion for several rare characters.

    Just to bump this.

Aguilar being rare makes a lot of sense at the beginning of the game because he shouldn't start the game as legendary.

I think it would be a neat feature if at the end of mission 28 when they give you his sword, the game should replace the rare Aguilar with an epic or legendary version of him.

The game could also track the team members you used most throughout the story and increase the 2 most used heroes to the next level of rarity as well.

Turning a rare hero into a legendary one still seems crazy, but it could work. The solution could be an additional achievement, which is unlocked after you completed story mission 28. The condition is to have Aguilar at 5*/Lv50. The reward would be Aguilar's upgrade to a legendary hero, including 50 DNA, so the difference between a rare and a legendary max score would be compensed anyway.

It just could be difficult to take Aguilar to the syncro-bonus characters in a HRE. In this case it would be necessary at least to take in one alternative rare or legendary character.

I like the idea of starting with a Rare Aguilar and in time turning him into Legendary, but I would do it a bit different. I would make the change at the end of region 4, so he can be more useful at region 5 (by that time, you have some Epics and even some Legendaries that outpass him, so he loses his leading role). This way, instead of getting Ezio DNA at main campaign missions, you can get Legendary Aguilar DNA.

This could be a bit problematic in terms of compensating players that already finished it, but that problem has appeared and was solved before.

Thank you for your feedback. I like your suggestion, too.

Yeah, look how long it took to set up mail and get our Ezio fragments after R5 was switched to Ezio instead of Aguilar... I wouldn't hold my breath.

I said it was solved, not that it was solved fast 🤭
