1% armor regen, why is it good?

got a named item, emporers knee pads maybe? Forget the other 2 stats, but the maxed out 1% armor regen has me wondering what good it would be.
    How exactly does it work?
Even with a huge armor build, let's pretend you have 3 million armor, that 1% is only 30k, or a hell of a lot less than a single bullet.
In reality you'll probably have less than that for armor, I'm sitting a little under a mil, with zero extra armor stats on my items.

Simple answer it's not good at all...

Even if you make a build fully focused on armor + armor regene it's not worth it...

DMG you take compared to armor regene is almost none existing + you lose so much dmg which will make fight's much longer which means you will only take much more dmg...

If you stack a bit of it, it will be useful. Instead of Hazard Protection, for example. But it only works if you have at least 3 ofblue stats (to be useful).

So for a hybrid tank it can be helpful. For Solo play.

Kneepads, you are talking about, are a named Murakami Emperor's Guard.

It didn't seem to be good, but because it's a maxed out stat at a whole one percent, I thought I must have been missing some aspect of it

    Coz it's % based.
2 Golan gear plus Emperor's guard - 2%. You will have around 1.2 million Armor with at least 3 pc (or even 1.4). So it's 28k armor per second of NOTHING.

It's a pretty strong auto repairing if you also have a bit stats like 4.9k per second (let's say, 2 of them). So it's already ~39k per second. Can be helpful to heal yourself.

    It is subjectively useful.

People bash armor regen because they compare it to options that can top of you immediately.

This is free armor. It's not their to match up 1:1 against incoming damage, that'd be OP.

stack it up and you can reach 100k.

-100K from a bullet in PvP is can be anywhere between 20% to 50% damage reduction.

It's good if you actually respect the fact that you need time to recover some armor, you can duck in and out of cover and take pot shots and it's a lot safer.

There is a build out there that revolves around stacking armor regen and using clutch and it is very potent.

Nothing is free, you're giving up other stats for that, but I agree in an armour build the percentage based regen is the strongest one there is in game.

Yes that build works really well.

This doesn't sound worth it at all. I am currently getting over 185k armor regen per kill. I only hav 1.1m armor, though.

If you go for that build, you are looking for 3 PC Gila for another 1% and 2 pc Golan I believe is another 1%. At 2 million armor, that is roughly 60k regen per second. Add to that roughly 4k per gear piece for an average of 20k more you are looking at about 80k per second. Now stack 3 incoming heals mods and you are getting over 100k regen per second. In 20 seconds you regen all your armor at 2 million
